Job Requirements

I. General Summary

Responsible for leading operational implementation, training, and support for innovative technology solutions created by the UMMS Center for Technology Innovation. Develop educational materials and training plans and provide end user support during implementation and post go-live. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful implementation of tailored technology solutions which incorporate principles of human factors and process design to improve the quality of patient care. Work is performed under limited direction. Direct report to the Senior Manager, Solution Design & Implementation.

II. Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.
  • Identify appropriate clinical and operational partners, decipher and translate clinical process needs to the technical teams.
  • Lead deep discovery sessions and provide comprehensive documentation to the innovation team needed to inform appropriate design for the local departments, as directed by the Manager, Implementation Engineering.
  • Assist with testing technology solutions and associated integrated technology prior to release; provide related testing documentation.
  • Develop training plans and materials in collaboration with both technical and local department staff and leaders.
  • Train support staff from various departments to ensure a proficient understanding of the technology and basic trouble-shooting for end-user support.
  • Solicit and organize feedback from end users and provide actionable feedback to the core innovation team.
  • Lead the assessment of solution transformation; identify and resolve issues that arise during and post implementation.
  • Present analytical data insights and findings using appropriate visualization tools to enable data driven decision making around technology assessment and deployment.
  • Collaborate with partner groups to develop successful transformation plans, facilitating the transfer of long-term support ownership to appropriate teams.

Work Experience

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Physical Therapy, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Master's degree preferred.
  • For healthcare applicants: Minimum 5 years of experience in a licensed, patient-facing clinical role, including 3 years at an academic medical center. Critical-care experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in novel technology innovation leading the implementation of novel solutions to complex problems.
  • For healthcare applicants: Minimum 5 years of experience in a licensed, patient-facing clinical role, 3 years at an academic medical center. Critical-care experience preferred.
