Full Job Description
Establish the financial backbone for Value Creation within Digital Technologies Mars Snacking, ensuring that value is clearly defined, financially grounded, consistently measured, and embedded into portfolio and integration decision-making.

This role will partner closely with Running Cost Finance, Portfolio, IMO Tech and Value Creation Office leadership to connect financial baselines, investment choices, synergy commitments, and business outcomes into one integrated value framework.

Unlike a traditional Finance BP role focused primarily on budget control, actuals, forecast accuracy, and run-rate discipline, this role will focus on translating financial data into value insight, decision quality, and executive confidence.

This role exists to support the focus shift from delivery execution to Value Realization, enabling informed prioritization, investment decisions, and outcomes that support Mars Snacking DT Strategy and the Five Principles.

What Success Looks Like:
  • A consistent and trusted financial framework for Value Creation is established across Digital Technologies Mars Snacking (in partnership with MGS).
  • Value commitments are clearly defined, financially grounded, and comparable across initiatives.
  • Leadership has transparent visibility of expected value, realized value, timing, confidence level, and financial risk.
  • Value cases are robust enough to support prioritization, trade-off, and investment decisions.
  • Financial planning, portfolio roadmap, integration milestones, and synergy commitments are connected into one coherent view.
  • Finance is embedded early in the value lifecycle, shaping value quality instead of only validating numbers after submission.
  • Value performance is translated into executive insights, showing where value is being created, delayed, duplicated, or at risk.
  • The VCO has a clear Finance operating model with defined roles, decision rights, governance points, and escalation paths.
  • Digital Technologies moves from cost and activity tracking to financially disciplined value realization.

Key Responsibilites
  • Define the Finance Value Creation framework, including value categories, measurement logic, financial baselines, assumptions, ownership model, and minimum standards for initiatives entering the VCO pipeline.
  • Partner with Running Cost Finance to ensure clean and consistent financial visibility across Budget, Actuals, Forecasts, Accruals, Capex/Opex, and Run/Grow/Transform views, creating the baseline required for value tracking and governance.
  • Shape and challenge value cases by testing assumptions, benefit logic, timing, dependencies, financial impact, realization path, accountable owners, and confidence level.
  • Connect financial planning, portfolio roadmap, integration milestones, synergy commitments, and value cases into one coherent view to support prioritization, affordability, phasing, and trade-off decisions.
  • Identify financial risks, gaps, duplicated value claims, overlaps, and potential value leakage across initiatives, ensuring value commitments are financially sound, comparable, and aligned with enterprise expectations.
  • Define and track key value indicators, including planned value, committed value, realized value, cost-to-value ratio, investment efficiency, timing, confidence level, and risk exposure.
  • Translate financial and portfolio data into executive-level value insights and narratives, supporting senior leadership governance through a transparent, consistent, and decision-oriented value cockpit.
  • Clarify interaction points between Value Finance, Running Cost Finance, Portfolio, PMO, Commercial, and business stakeholders.

Knowledge/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Management, or related field
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Finance BP background, with solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, actuals, accruals, Capex/Opex, financial baselines, and governance
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls
  • Understanding of IT services, technology landscape, and support processes
  • Understanding of Value Creation, including synergy tracking, cost transformation, productivity, cost avoidance, benefit realization, and value case development will be a differentiator
  • Proven ability to translate financial and portfolio data into executive-level insights, narratives, dashboards, and recommendations that support senior leadership decisions (Ability to identify trends, gaps, and risks)
  • Experience working across Finance, Technology, Portfolio, PMO, Transformation, and business stakeholders in complex enterprise programs, integrations, or M&A environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge assumptions, identify risks or value leakage, and drive alignment on financially grounded decisions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and synthesis skills.

What can you expect from Mars?
  • Work with over 140,000 diverse and talented Associates, all guided by the Five Principles.
  • Join a purpose driven company, where we're striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today.
  • Best-in-class learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University.
  • An industry competitive salary and benefits package, including company bonus.
