JOB TITLE: Immigration Paralegal

OFFICE LOCATION: Miami, Chicago, or Washington DC

DEPARTMENT: Transactional

REPORTS TO: Transactional Paralegal Manager

FLSA STATUS: Full time/Nonexempt

JOB PURPOSE:

Saul Ewing LLP is seeking an experienced employment-based immigration paralegal to join its team. The immigration paralegal will be responsible for preparing USCIS petitions and applications, gathering and organizing supporting documentation, managing their own caseload, and maintaining direct communication with clients and visa beneficiaries. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and full ownership of assigned matters from start to finish.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare and file employment-based immigrant and nonimmigrant petitions, including but not limited to H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, PERM, I-140, I-526E and I-485 applications.
  • Draft forms, support letters, and compile application packages in accordance with USCIS, DOL, and consular requirements.
  • Gather and organize supporting documentation from clients and visa beneficiaries.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employers and foreign nationals throughout the case lifecycle.
  • Respond to client inquiries and provide regular updates on case progress.
  • Ensure timely filing of petitions and applications, including RFE and audit responses.
  • Accurately record billable time and case activity in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Work closely with attorneys, legal assistants, and administrative staff to ensure a coordinated approach to client service.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines
  • Able to use independent judgement and discretion when working on confidential matters
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Proficiency in legal research tools
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Bilingual communication skills (Spanish preferred but not required)


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with employment-based immigration for a law firm
  • Case Management technology and prior use of a CRM system
  • EB-5 knowledge/experience is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or a paralegal certificate preferred

  • Individual in this position will provide additional assistance and support as directed by their supervisor.
  • Individual in this position should be able to work flexible hours if a business need arises

PAY TYPE: HOURLY

COMPENSATION:

The pay for this position will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, education, external market data, internal equity, and other job-related factors. The anticipated range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 annually.

Saul Ewing follows a hybrid work schedule. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of one of our office locations.
