Full Job Description
The Role

We are hiring an Immigration Attorney to own a complex caseload of employment-based matters and deliver exceptional client outcomes. This is not a back-office legal role. You will be a trusted advisor to clients navigating some of the most consequential decisions of their lives, and you will be expected to bring the full weight of your legal judgment to every case.

You will work closely with our legal leadership, operations, and product teams. You are here to do outstanding legal work - and to help build the systems that make outstanding legal work scalable.

What You Will Do

Own your caseload
  • Manage a full range of employment-based immigration matters: EB-1A/B, EB-2 NIW, O-1A/B, H-1B, L-1, PERM, TN, E-2, and beyond
  • Serve as attorney of record and draft petitions that are persuasive, precise, and client-centered
  • Anticipate issues before they become problems - surface risk early, communicate proactively, and drive cases to resolution

Deliver an exceptional client experience
  • Guide clients through complex and often uncertain processes with clarity, strategy, and care
  • Communicate with urgency and directness - clients should always know where they stand and what comes next
  • Own escalations on your cases from intake through resolution

Contribute to legal quality and systems
  • Uphold and improve Alma's legal standards across templates, processes, and workflows
  • Identify gaps in how we work and bring solutions - not just observations
  • Collaborate with product and operations to surface tooling needs and workflow improvements

Support new clients
  • Participate in new client consultations, assess eligibility, and recommend pathways with confidence
Who Should Apply

You are a good fit if:

  • You have a minimum of 3 years of experience practicing employment-based immigration law
  • You are licensed to practice law and hold a J.D. or LL.M. from an accredited institution
  • You are deeply client-obsessed and believe exceptional legal work and exceptional client service are the same thing
  • You communicate proactively, take full ownership of your cases, and follow through reliably, even at high workloads
  • You bring strong legal judgment and know how to navigate ambiguity - many cases fall into gray zones that require nuance and precision
  • You are excited about AI-assisted legal workflows and see technology as a way to increase the quality and consistency of your work
  • You want to help build systems, not just operate within them

Do not apply if:
  • You are comfortable with work that is merely good enough
  • You struggle to operate with speed, urgency, and sound judgment at the same time
  • You do not instinctively connect your legal work to client outcomes and business results
  • You prefer to execute tasks rather than take ownership of outcomes
  • You are not motivated by building and improving systems in a fast-changing environment
  • You are looking for a narrow, purely execution-focused legal role
Compensation and Benefits
  • Hyper-competitive base salary based on experience
  • 100% health coverage - medical, dental, vision
  • 20 days PTO + 10 federal holidays
  • $250/month wellness allowance
  • Direct access to legal leadership and a front-row seat to building an AI-native law firm from the ground up

The right person for this role does not need every box checked. If this role excites you and you have most of the foundation, we want to hear from you. Immigration is complex. So are people. That is what makes this work matter.
