IMC / PCU Overview

The IMC/PCU provides specialized monitoring and treatment for patients who require higher acuity care, including continuous cardiac monitoring, complex medication management, and frequent assessments.

Patients in the IMC/PCU may include those stepping down from the ICU, patients with cardiac, respiratory, neurological, or medical conditions requiring close observation, and those at risk for clinical deterioration. Nurses in this unit develop strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and early-intervention expertise while working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
