Qualifications
- Current BC Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB) certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Education.
- Formal training and demonstrated experience in special education.
- Special Education certification is an asset.
- Excellent understanding of the BC Ministry of Education K-7 program of study.
- Skill in differentiating instruction and fostering a collaborative, creative environment with faculty and staff.
- Proficiency in using and teaching assistive technologies.
- Strong familiarity with Psycho-Educational Assessments and Level B assessment instruments.
- Commitment to using data and metrics to improve student learning outcomes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching, collaboration, and ongoing professional growth.
- Support for the mission, vision, and values of VTT.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and update IEPs and Student Support Plans (SSPs) for students with special education needs.
- Lead IEP/SSP meetings with members of the school-based team and families.
- Work as part of the student support team, including classroom teachers, EAs, OG tutors, and school principals.
- Continually assess student achievement using a variety of methods and modalities.
- Differentiate learning and provide accommodations and modifications to support the success of all students.
- Ensure accommodations within IEPs are being met through regular check-ins with the school-based team.
- Liaise with parents and outside agencies to support students' special education needs.
- Participate in school-wide professional development.
- Contribute to a culture of collegiality and collaboration as an engaged member of the team.

Salary range: BC Certified Teachers typically range from $63,378 to $106,476 (full-time), depending on qualifications and experience
