The ICU Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Midlevel Supervisor is an experienced advanced practice provider responsible for providing high-quality critical care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit and for coordinating and supervising the clinical activities of the ICU Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant team.
This position combines direct patient care with clinical leadership, education, scheduling, quality improvement, and administrative responsibilities. The Midlevel Supervisor works closely with intensivists, hospitalists, nursing leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and coordinated care for critically ill patients.
This is a weekday position with primary responsibility for ICU patient care, critical care consultations, and leadership of the ICU midlevel team.
- Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Missouri.
- Appropriate national certification as an NP or PA.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Critical care experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated competency or ability to obtain competency in critical care procedures, including intubation, central venous catheter placement, and arterial line placement.
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to function effectively in a high-acuity environment.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, APPs, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Interest in education, mentorship, quality improvement, and development of other advanced practice providers.
