OverviewThe IAT Director guides the Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) process by aligning agency outputs with business and brand objectives. As the overall IAT lead and integrated client resource, they bring together partner agencies across paid, owned, earned, and shared channels to drive collaboration and deliver seamless, audience-led connections plans.
Working closely with creative, media, PR, influencer, and digital commerce partners, the Director orchestrates cross-agency strategy development and helps translate global planning processes for the Canadian market. They oversee the communications framework from planning through activation, ensuring inputs are complementary and connected across the full consumer journey.
The Director also establishes and governs IAT ways of working, including processes, roles, and responsibilities across partner agencies. They lead, coach, and direct a team of strategists and planners, maintaining quality, consistency, and excellence across all strategic outputs.
Responsibilities- Act as the primary client and account lead for IAT, representing the integrated plan and ensuring alignment with client expectations and business goals
- Lead and orchestrate the IAT team (Communications Strategists, Audience Planners, and Partner Agencies) to deliver fully integrated outputs
- Integrate and synthesize all agency and team inputs into one cohesive, end-to-end communications plan
- Oversee the development of audience-led consumer journeys and communications plans, ensuring cohesion across all contributing teams
- Apply a portfolio management lens to individual brand plan development, ensuring strategies ladder up to the broader portfolio context and are not developed in isolation
- Provide leadership, guidance, and quality control across all strategic outputs, ensuring consistency and excellence
- Coordinate with global teams to adopt and adapt processes and frameworks for the Canadian market, while representing local needs and sharing best-in-class work across global markets
- Define, implement, and continuously refine IAT ways of working, including processes, governance, and clear roles and responsibilities across all partner agencies
- Develop Measurement Framework & Learning Plan; Tracking & Optimization against KPIs (with support from specialist teams)
- Project Management; toolkit deployment, market communication, adoption tracking and feedback
- Lead senior client interactions, presentations, workshops, and decision-making forums
- Bring thought leadership to clients and Spark Foundry as a whole
- Coach and develop junior team members, fostering strong collaboration and integration across disciplines
- Partake in new business pitches with the Spark Foundry team
Qualifications- 8+ years of experience in integrated communications, account leadership, brand strategy, media strategy, or agency planning
- Proven agency or multi-agency experience, with the ability to orchestrate work across creative, media, PR, influencer, commerce, and digital partner
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to manage multiple workstreams, timelines, deliverables, and decision-makers simultaneously
- Experience leading integrated planning processes from strategy through activation, including annual planning, campaign planning, and in-year optimization
- Ability to synthesize inputs from multiple teams into cohesive strategic recommendations and client-ready outputs
- Strong understanding of audience-led planning, consumer journeys, channel ecosystems, and measurement frameworks
- Experience working with senior clients and cross-functional leadership teams, including presentations, workshops, and decision-making forums
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and influence stakeholders
Preferred Experience- Experience adopting and adapting global processes, frameworks, or toolkits for a local market
- Experience managing complexity across a brand portfolio and ensuring individual brand plans ladder up to broader portfolio objectives
- Experience coaching or managing junior team members
- Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Strategy, or a related discipline preferred
Additional informationSalaryTransparency matters to us. The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $115,000 per year. Actual compensation within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and applicable certifications. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to offer based on current market data.
