At WGU, data drives decision-making, from course design to student support. As a Data Analyst on our Learning Program Analytics team, you'll work with large-scale, high-value datasets to help evaluate what's working and what's not, so we can help every student succeed. You'll partner closely with cross-functional teams to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights using rigorous analytical methods.
What You'll Do- Analyze large datasets to uncover trends and deliver actionable insights that inform program development and student engagement strategies
- Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards and data visualizations, including consolidating and improving existing reporting assets
- Translate stakeholder needs into technical requirements and deliver clear, data-driven solutions
- Partner with Data Engineering to support ETL and data pipeline development
- Perform ad hoc analyses and communicate findings through compelling data storytelling
- Identify and resolve data quality issues to ensure accuracy and reliability of insights
- Apply descriptive statistics and analytical methods to identify patterns and support sound conclusions
- Document methodology, sources, and insight history to support transparency and reproducibility
- Understand and apply relevant data governance and security policies to access, use, and store data responsibly
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Program Development, Product, and Decision Intelligence to support key initiatives
- Build toward greater autonomy in driving tasks and small-scale projects, with growing independence in tracking progress and navigating dependencies
What You'll Bring- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
- 3 years of related experience in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, Data Science, Statistics, Decision Intelligence, Research, Learning Science, or Behavioral/Cognitive Psychology
- Strong SQL skills and experience querying large datasets
- Experience with Tableau or Power BI for data visualization
- Experience working with ETL or ELT processes and data pipelines
- Solid working knowledge of descriptive statistics and analytical methods, with the ability to apply them to real-world datasets to identify trends and support data-driven conclusions
- Ability to apply sound judgment and analytical thinking to identify root causes of data issues and inform recommendations
Bonus Points- Experience working with large-scale datasets containing millions of records
- Familiarity with Databricks or similar data platforms
- Experience contributing to dashboard optimization or consolidation projects
- Proficiency in a programming language such as Python or R
- Exposure to GitHub and analytics documentation standards

Work LocationThis is a full-time, in-office position requiring five days per week in our Salt Lake City, UT office, designed to foster the collaboration and connection that fuel our best work.

Travel RequirementThis position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year).
