Full Job Description

C.H Robinson is seeking an Analytical Consultant who will serve as a strategic analytical partner to business leadership, transforming internal performance metrics, operational data, external market intelligence, and AI-enabled research into actionable business insights. This role owns scorecard management, trend analysis, opportunity identification, and stakeholder consulting while serving as the primary point of contact for analytical needs across assigned business verticals.

In this role, you will connect internal business performance with external market, customer, industry, project, supply-chain, and competitive signals to drive informed decision-making and uncover growth opportunities. This role collaborates closely with business leaders, analytics teams, market intelligence partners, and data stakeholders to deliver decision-ready insights and build a prioritized pipeline of analytical initiatives.

 Responsibilities:

  • Own and maintain business performance scorecards and KPI reporting processes.
  • Manage metric definitions, data quality validation, and reporting governance.
  • Deliver monthly scorecard updates with performance narratives, business context, and recommendations.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy across reporting inputs and outputs.

Trend Analysis & Business Insights

  • Monitor business performance trends and investigate significant changes.
  • Identify root causes and business implications of emerging trends.
  • Translate data findings into actionable recommendations for business leaders.
  • Provide timely analysis to support decision-making and business priorities.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Integrate internal business data with external market, customer, industry, competitor, and project intelligence.
  • Identify market opportunities, business risks, whitespace opportunities, and growth trends.
  • Conduct research using public, licensed, and industry data sources.
  • Develop executive-ready summaries that highlight critical insights and recommendations.

AI-Enabled Research & Analytics

  • Leverage approved AI tools to accelerate research, monitoring, data synthesis, and reporting processes.
  • Develop repeatable analytical workflows for scorecards, alerts, watchlists, and intelligence gathering.
  • Validate AI-generated insights through human review and analysis.
  • Continually identify opportunities to improve analytical efficiency through automation and AI capabilities.

Business Consulting & Stakeholder Partnership

  • Serve as the primary analytical consultant for assigned business verticals.
  • Support day-to-day analytical requests and provide rapid insight generation.
  • Facilitate intake, prioritization, and backlog management of analytical needs.
  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and leadership teams.

Cross-Functional Analytics Collaboration

  • Partner with data, analytics, business intelligence, and technical teams on complex analytical initiatives.
  • Escalate and coordinate larger-scale projects requiring advanced analytical expertise.
  • Help translate business questions into structured analytical projects and solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable analytical products, reporting solutions, and reusable insights.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, strategy, market intelligence, consulting, or a related analytical role.
  • Experience developing and maintaining KPI dashboards, scorecards, and performance reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, root causes, and business implications.
  • Experience working with large datasets and translating data into actionable business recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analytical findings to business stakeholders and leaders.
  • Experience conducting market research, competitive analysis, and business intelligence activities.
  • Advanced proficiency with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Statistics, MBA, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting commercial, industrial, manufacturing, construction, infrastructure, supply chain, or technology-related business sectors.
  • Knowledge of data center, project-based, or large-scale infrastructure markets.
  • Experience leveraging AI and generative AI tools for research, monitoring, workflow automation, and insight generation.
  • Proficiency with SQL and data querying tools.
  • Experience with predictive analytics, advanced statistical techniques, or business forecasting.
  • Background in management consulting, strategy consulting, competitive intelligence, or market research.
  • Experience working with external data providers, market intelligence platforms, and industry research tools.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality management, and analytics best practices.
  • Demonstrated success building scalable reporting processes, dashboards, analytical products, or automated workflows.

Compensation Range

$60,200.00 - $126,900.00

The base pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by work location, which takes into account geographic cost of labor, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base pay only and do not include additional variable compensation.
