ConocoPhillips Alaska is recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Technician for on-site work at our Alpine or Kuparuk Fields on the North Slope of Alaska.

If selected as the Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be remotely based at the Alpine or Kuparuk Field working a 14 days on/14 days off schedule. The successful candidate will work in a journeyman role and develop/demonstrate skills and knowledge to allow for progression within the electrical position.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Performing general electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and work outlined on preventative/corrective maintenance work orders to ensure safe and reliable equipment performance

• Performing maintenance on heavy-duty industrial generators, motors, switchgear, protective relays, fire/gas detection systems, fire suppression systems, UPS systems, variable speed drives, heat tracing systems, and other facility electrical equipment

• New installation of electrical equipment and cable systems in hazardous/classified areas

• Functional checkout/commissioning of new equipment and facilities

• Proficiency using electrical test and calibration equipment

• Knowing and observing safe work practices including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (i.e. fire retardant clothing, hard hat, safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, safety harness, breathing apparatus, etc.)

• Safely execute work within the proper-engineered guidelines following Management of Change (MOC) procedures

• Must be able to initiate work without direct supervision and plan job steps and material needs based on field-wide prioritiesQualifications

Basic/Required:

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

• Ability to deliver zero incident HSE results, demonstrated with safety leadership

• 5+ years journeyman electrician experience in an industrial environment

• State of Alaska electrical journeyman's license

• Current/valid driver's license

• Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to work and live in a remote site in the Arctic, including working outside in harsh weather conditions

• Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to safely perform strenuous physical activity such as lifting, bending, carrying material, and climbing ladders/stairs daily

• Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to work a 2 week on/2 week off work schedule

Preferred:

• Possess a current NICET Level 2 Fire Alarm Systems certificate and/or Alaska State Fire Alarm Permit Level 1B

• Associate degree or technical training or higher in the electrical field or foreign equivalent

• 5+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry with Arctic experience

• 1+ years of experience working with large industrial synchronous generators / controls, induction / synchronous motors, 480V / 5KV / 15KV / 35KV switchgear, solid state / electromechanical / microprocessor based protective relays, fire / gas detection systems, and Halon / FE13 / Fine Water Mist fire suppression systems

• Intermediate knowledge of maintenance management system (SAP preferred)

• Strong computing skills, including proficiency in MS Excel and Word

• Demonstrate active leadership/participation/engagement in achieving a Zero Incident Culture

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• A proven track record of achievement, collaboration, technical growth, and growing responsibilities
