In this role, you will work directly with customers, field technicians, delivery teams, and engineering stakeholders across data centers, laboratories, and operational environments. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers deploy and operate reliable, high-performance network and optical transport infrastructure.

What you will do- Support physical deployment activities in customer data centers, including rack installation, fiber deployment, switch and router installation, testing, commissioning, upgrades, migrations, and remediation.
- Support hyperscale and colocation environments of large-scale data center operators.
- Install, troubleshoot, and commission high-capacity network, server, and optical transport equipment in live or controlled data center environments.
- Support Data Center Interconnect deployments connecting geographically separated data centers using high-speed optical transport.
- Work with optical line systems and related components, including OLS, ROADM, transponders, MUX/DEMUX, EDFAs, and associated cabling and optics.
- Develop, review, and maintain detailed Methods of Procedure for installations, upgrades, migrations, break/fix activities, and remediation.
- Perform scenario planning, risk analysis, pre-checks, post-checks, and rollback planning for complex operational changes and customer escalations.
- Provide Tier 3 technical escalation support to field technicians and delivery teams for complex network, hardware, fiber, and transport issues.
- Review Bills of Materials, equipment lists, designs, and implementation plans for technical accuracy, completeness, and alignment with customer requirements.
- Diagnose faults using appropriate optical and network test equipment; document findings, corrective actions, and commissioning results.
- Identify operational gaps and improvement opportunities, recommending practical solutions that improve reliability, efficiency, service quality, and customer outcomes.
Skills you will bring- Recent hands-on physical deployment experience in data center networking, optical transport, or mission-critical infrastructure;
- Demonstrated experience with rack installation, fiber deployment, switch/router installation, testing, and commissioning in data centers.
- Experience supporting hyperscale, colocation, or similarly large-scale and mission-critical data center environments.
- Practical knowledge of Data Center Interconnect architecture and high-speed optical transport.
- Experience with modular chassis platforms from one or more of the following vendors, or comparable systems: Cisco 8000 Series, Arista 7800 Series, and Juniper PTX Series.
- Experience installing or supporting data center computing and server platforms from HPE, Dell, Supermicro, NVIDIA DGX, or comparable manufacturers.
- Working knowledge of OLS, ROADM, transponders, MUX/DEMUX, EDFAs, and associated optical transport technologies.
- Hands-on experience with optical and fiber test equipment, including Optical Power Meter, Light Source, Fiber Microscope, VFL, OLTS, OTDR, and BERT Tester.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across the physical layer, fiber, network hardware, and optical transport domains.
- Proven ability to lead or author Methods of Procedure and execute high-risk changes with clear pre-check, implementation, validation, and rollback procedures.
- Strong break/fix, fault isolation, root-cause analysis, and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to operate as a Tier 3 escalation point and provide clear, actionable guidance to field teams.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills and the ability to explain technical risks and recommend practical improvements.
- Ability to work independently at customer sites while influencing outcomes across multiple teams and organizations.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills, including proficiency with Microsoft productivity tools.
- Consultative mindset, curiosity, attention to detail, and a consistent focus on operational excellence and safety.
- Willingness to travel to customer data centers, laboratories, warehouses, and other operational locations across the United States as required.
