Full Job Description
Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Transportation team as a Hydraulics & Stormwater Engineer in Raleigh, NC. Responsibilities include: • Serve as project engineer and as a technical resource and/or project manager. • May serve as engineer in charge to review, approve, and apply professional engineering seals to final plans and specifications. • Assist with or lead marketing pursuits and/or act as a client contact • Responsible for schedules, work in progress, and timely completion of projects. • Prepare workload forecasts for projects and coordinate pricing, estimating, and scoping for proposed projects. • Prepare or direct preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, permits and designs for projects. • Assist with development of project quantities and construction cost estimates for projects. • Responsible to the project manager and/or project team for quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual. • Assist with contract administration. • Visit project sites for field investigations and other duties to meet project needs. • Other duties as assigned. A valid driver's license and some travel will be required. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering from an accredited college or university and at least 6 years of experience. A PE license is required. The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: • Familiarity with NCDOT Hydraulics Unit design guidelines, policies and procedures • Experience with OpenRoads Designer - Drainage and Utilities and relevant H&H software (HEC-RAS, SRH-2D, EPA SWMM, HydroCAD) • Experience designing open and closed stormwater conveyance systems and performing bridge and culvert hydraulic analyses. • Experience with Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GIS), Low Impact Development (LID), and Stormwater Control Measure/BMP design If you have strong communication and organizational skills, are self-motivated, and can work well both independently and as part of a team, complete the online application process for this job posting at www.meadhunt.com/careers.
