POSITION SUMMARY:

Associates in this role have responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments. The work is related to guidance on overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.

JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following job/task functions have been identified as the core functions of this position. However, the supervisor or manager may assign additional duties associated with this position.

  • Designing and analyzing hydraulic systems, including pipelines, channels, drainage systems, and water treatment facilities.
  • Conducting feasibility studies, including site investigations and assessments, to determine the viability and potential impacts of hydraulic projects.
  • Collaborating with other engineers and professionals to develop comprehensive hydraulic designs and engineering plans.
  • Identifying and evaluating potential risks and hazards associated with hydraulic systems and implementing appropriate safety measures.
  • Performing hydraulic calculations, simulations, and modeling to predict the behavior and performance of water-related systems.
  • Overseeing the construction and installation of hydraulic systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Conducting inspections and assessments of existing hydraulic infrastructure, identifying maintenance or repair needs, and providing recommendations.
  • Conducting research and staying updated on the latest advancements in hydraulic engineering technologies and methodologies.
  • Managing project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to ensure project success.
  • Collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permitting requirements.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Hydraulic Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred.
  • Proven experience in hydraulic engineering, preferably in the design and construction of hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant software and tools used in hydraulic engineering, such as AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, and EPANET.
  • Strong mathematical and computational skills.
  • Familiarity with environmental impact assessment processes and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in project management and working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.


REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • In-depth knowledge of hydraulic engineering principles, fluid mechanics, and water management systems.
  • Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and hydraulic modelling software.
