HVAC Technical Advisor to serve as a trainer, mentor, technical resource, and leader for our service team.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced HVAC professional who enjoys solving complex problems, coaching others, setting expectations, and helping build a stronger service department.
You'll still be connected to the field, but you'll have a schedule with greater consistency and predictability than a traditional service technician role, along with the opportunity to make a broader impact.
What You'll DoAs our HVAC Technical Advisor, you'll be a key resource for technicians and management. You'll help establish expectations, develop technicians, and make sure our team has the training and support necessary to succeed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coaching technicians in the field through ride-alongs, complex calls, and customer communication
- Helping establish technician expectations, standards, and accountability
- Developing and coordinating training programs using tools such as Interplay Learning
- Providing technical guidance on challenging diagnostic and repair situations
- Helping technicians make sound repair-versus-replacement recommendations
- Conducting in-house training and mentoring technicians
- Reviewing callbacks and identifying opportunities to prevent repeat issues
- Collaborating with service, dispatch, and installation
- Helping maintain safety, code compliance, vehicle, and tool standards
- Building relationships with local trade schools to support recruiting
You'll also stay connected with the office and help coordinate the day-to-day technical needs of the service department.

more controlled hours than a traditional service technician role, while still providing the variety and hands-on involvement that makes HVAC work rewarding.
After-hours responsibilities are shared through a
well-balanced on-call rotation, so you are not carrying the on-call responsibility every week. The goal is to give our team a sustainable schedule while still providing excellent service to our customers.
What We're Looking ForYou should have the technical knowledge to confidently troubleshoot HVAC systems and the communication and leadership skills to help others succeed.
Required qualifications:- State of Iowa HVAC License
- Valid driver's license
- Meets criteria of Level 4+ technician
- 3+ years in customer service or management within a service industry, or equivalent education/experience
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints
- Broad HVAC troubleshooting experience with furnaces, AC, geothermal, heat pumps, boilers, and rooftop units
- Ability to safely operate scissors and genie lifts
- Knowledge of basic sheet metal practices
- Understanding of air balancing principles and techniques
- Experience making repair and replacement decisions
- Strong computer skills and highly organized
- Advanced customer service and communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and accountability
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong proficiency with ServiceTitan or similar service management software
- Resides within 30 miles of our location
Preferred: NATE certification and comfort implementing tools such as MeasureQuick.
