SLB New Energy & Industrial is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary engineering team. This individual will support the design and delivery of complex mechanical systems for mission-critical data centers projects. The ideal candidate is technically strong, collaborative, and interested in growing into a project leadership role while working on some of the most challenging and high-profile projects in the industry.
Roles and Responsibilities: - Design HVAC, hydronic, ventilation, plumbing, and mechanical systems for data center projects.
- Perform load calculations, equipment selection, energy analysis, and system sizing.
- Develop construction documents including plans, specifications, schedules, and details.
- Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, structural, architectural, and technology teams throughout project execution.
- Participate in design reviews, site visits, construction administration, and commissioning activities.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Interface directly with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Support project managers with scheduling, budgeting, and technical coordination.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers as experience allows.
Qualifications And Experience - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC or mechanical system design
- Strong experience with:
- HVAC system design, layout, and load calculations
- Equipment selection and mechanical system sizing
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, IECC, etc.)
- Experience with CAD/BIM tools (Revit, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Experience reviewing vendor drawings and technical submittals preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams
- Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US without sponsorship.
Nice to Have - Data center, mission-critical, or large-scale facility experience
- Experience with fire protection systems or NFPA standards
- Exposure to modular or prefabricated systems
- PE license or progress toward licensure
