HVAC Installation Manager

In this role, you will help lead branch installation delivery across Controls, Equipment, and Mechanical teams, supporting strong customer outcomes, operational excellence, and a culture grounded in safety and integrity.

Role Overview

Under general direction, the HVAC Branch Installation Manager manages branch delivery teams and supports the successful execution of installation work from planning through completion. This role partners closely with senior leadership to balance performance, financial results, resource planning, and customer satisfaction while ensuring work is completed safely, ethically, and in compliance with applicable requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the overall execution and performance of assigned Controls and Mechanical Installation delivery teams.
  • Support revenue forecasting, billings, collections, resource planning, and cost control for the branch.
  • Assign projects and ensure the appropriate engineering, commissioning, and mechanical resources are deployed.
  • Manage branch priorities related to cash flow, backlog growth, project slippage reduction, productivity, SG&A, and succession planning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, customers, consultants, and subcontractors in the community.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain Project Team Leaders, System Team Leaders, Lead Systems Specialists, Project Engineers, and Equipment System Application Engineers.
  • Support scheduling for installation projects and equipment backlog, including want dates and ship dates.
  • Coach teams on project risk management, conflict resolution, and recovery planning.
  • Promote the securing of change orders and support customer satisfaction issue resolution.
  • Ensure work performed complies with state, local, and federal requirements, as well as branch safety standards and ethical expectations.
  • Partner with senior leadership on annual strategic and financial operating plans.
  • Review contract terms and conditions with project, sales, and engineering teams as needed.

  • You will win as one team by building trust across Sales, Project, Engineering, and field teams and by valuing diverse perspectives in decision-making.
  • Use estimating and engineering standards effectively to support consistent execution across the branch.
  • Establish goals and development plans for direct reports and reinforce strong performance through coaching and feedback.
  • Monitor asset management activities such as billings, collections, payables, and cost discipline.
  • Keep customer satisfaction top of mind and drive timely resolution when issues arise.
  • Support the senior installation manager in planning, staffing, and financial execution for the branch.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of seven years of progressively more responsible project leadership experience in the building construction industry.
  • High-level competence in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to travel based on the geographical locations of assigned teams.
  • Experience working with installation teams, project leaders, engineers, and subcontractors in a construction or building systems environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage financial priorities such as forecasting, billings, collections, and resource planning.
  • Strong understanding of safety compliance and ethical business conduct.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with MS Project and MS Tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced branch environment.
  • Experience negotiating contract terms, handling conflict resolution, and supporting change order discussions.
  • Background in team development, hiring, or succession planning.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $112,100 - 168,350 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
