Position Summary

The HVAC Installation Manager is responsible for overseeing all residential HVAC installation operations, ensuring projects move seamlessly from the sales process through final completion. This role serves as a critical link between Sales, Operations, Warehouse, and Installation teams, ensuring every project is properly scoped, scheduled, staffed, and executed to H & H Heating & Air Conditioning's high standards.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop HVAC installation technicians, lead installers, and apprentices.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, professional growth, and exceptional customer service.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, ride-alongs, field audits, and skills development training.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard installation team members.
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration across departments.
Sales-to-Operations Process Management
  • Review sold projects for accuracy, equipment selection, installation requirements, permits, and job readiness.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to ensure a smooth handoff of projects into operations.
  • Identify and resolve scope gaps, material needs, installation challenges, or scheduling concerns before work begins.
  • Verify all customer agreements, financing documentation, permits, and required paperwork are complete prior to scheduling.
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison between Sales, Dispatch, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Installation teams.
Installation Operations
  • Oversee daily installation scheduling and workforce deployment.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.
  • Monitor installation progress and proactively address operational challenges.
  • Coordinate equipment, materials, permits, and subcontractors as necessary.
  • Conduct jobsite visits to monitor workmanship, productivity, and customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications, company policies, and local building codes.
Quality Assurance & Customer Experience
  • Perform post-installation quality inspections and audits.
  • Resolve escalated customer concerns with professionalism and urgency.
  • Ensure every customer receives a positive and seamless installation experience.
  • Monitor warranty claims, callbacks, and installation-related service issues to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction throughout the installation process.
Department Performance & Financial Management
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
    • Installation revenue
    • Gross profit margins
    • Labor efficiency
    • Job completion rates
    • Customer satisfaction scores
    • Callback and warranty percentages
  • Support departmental budgeting and profitability initiatives.
  • Manage inventory utilization and material costs.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Required
  • 5+ years of residential HVAC installation leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of residential HVAC systems, installation best practices, load calculations, and building codes.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from sale through installation completion.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and employee development skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred
  • EPA Certification.
  • NATE Certification.
  • Experience with ServiceTitan or similar field service management software.
  • Experience managing installation budgets and departmental profitability.
  • Residential replacement, retrofit, and new installation experience.
  • Knowledge of inventory, purchasing, and warehouse coordination processes.
