Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service focused on building long-term relationships
  • Analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot digital control systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance and system modifications as needed
  • Maintain building automation systems including inspecting logs and programming
  • Support HVAC technicians with controls-related issues
  • Implement programming and graphics for installations and retrofits
  • Commission control installations and verify compliance with specifications
  • Train and follow up with customers and operations personnel
  • Complete and review work orders for accuracy
  • Seek continuous improvements in service processes
  • Participate in the on-call rotation as necessary

Full Job Description
Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time HVAC Controls Technician II. You'll have the opportunity to work on all types of commercial and industrial equipment and cutting-edge technologies. Receive comprehensive training through in-person, online, and on-the-job programs. You'll assist in installing, programming, and servicing commercial digital controls systems as well as provide technician support for Building Automation Systems, maintenance agreements, system upgrades and controls service requests.

Location: Ottawa, ON

Your Responsibilities:
  • Provide responsive and professional customer service with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships
  • Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and replacement modifications as needed or requested by customers
  • Maintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming
  • Provide controls technical support to HVAC technicians
  • Create and/or implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projects
  • Commission controls installations and verify that control sequences meet scope, design, or specifications
  • Provide training and follow-ups for Customers and operations personnel
  • Complete work orders and review with customers for accuracy
  • Continually look for ways to improve our processes and ability to serve our customers effectively
  • Participate in on-call rotation


Your Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate's Degree or technical school HVAC certification (preferred)
  • 3+ years of related HVAC controls experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Niagara N4 and/or Niagara AX Certification (preferred)
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
  • Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
  • Rotational Emergency Call Support availability as required
  • Previous experience in mentoring less experienced technicians
  • Experience with any common integration protocols such as: BACnet MST / IP, LON, Modbus TCP / RTU, Ethernet OIP, MQTT, or SQL
  • EPA approved Universal Technician Certification (preferred)
  • OSHA 10 certification (preferred)
  • Current first aid / CPR card (preferred)

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $50.00 in ON. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
