The Prince William County Department of Social Services (DSS) is seeking a results-oriented and tech-savvy professional to provide leadership for the Compliance Team in the Customer Support and Services (CSS) Division.
About This Role:

In this role, the Human Services Manager will provide oversight and supervision to the Compliance Team, which is made up of high-performing Senior Human Service Specialists. This team represents the agency during the appeal process, completes internal case reviews, and promotes compliance with state and federal regulations.
The Human Services Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for internal, external, state, and federal partners for audits. They will establish and manage processes for responding to, tracking, and analyzing audit requests and findings.
The ideal candidate will mentor team members to ensure accurate and consistent handling of appeals and case reviews in alignment with program policy and agency procedures. They will conduct reviews on cases that appear on the SNAP apptrack non-compliance report. Additionally, the Human Services Manager will monitor and analyze trends from various sources such as appeals, SNAP apptrack, internal and external case reviews to identify system issues, gaps in staff knowledge, or procedural problems. These insights will be used to recommend training or policy clarifications to be shared with management and the Public Assistance Training Team.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D and
  • 7 years of experience determining public benefits eligibility

Preferences:
  • 7 years or more of experience determining public benefits eligibility (SNAP, and Medicaid)
  • 3 years or more of experience working in Virginia Case Management System (VaCMS)
  • 1 year or more of experience determining TANF eligibility.
  • 1 year or more of experience supervising a team responsible for SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid eligibility
  • 1 year or more of experience with case reviews in Rushmore
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and MS Office Suite to complete analysis and presentations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Special Requirements (if applicable):
  • All DSS staff are required to provide emergency human services work, including staffing emergency shelters in the event of a community disaster.
  • Candidates must pass criminal history, child protective services and DMV background checks.
  • Resource/foster parents for youth in the Prince William foster-care program may not be employed by the Prince William Dept of Social Services. Resource/foster parents for youth from other localities are welcome to apply.
  • Staff in this position are eligible to telework but may be required to report to the office intermittently. Telework eligibility is subject to change as business needs warrant; there is no future guarantee of telework.

Work Schedule:

37.5 hours per week

Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

This is a remote work position: Work is currently performed off-site. However, staff may be required to report to the office on an intermittent basis (e.g. for meetings or trainings). Eligibility for remote work is subject to change as business needs warrant.
Hiring Salary Range:

$91,162.50 - $121,836.00
