HR Supervisor - Start-Up Warehouse Operations

Moreno Valley, California
Salary Range: $78,000 - $92,000 annually

DP World is launching an exciting new warehouse and distribution operation in Moreno Valley, CA, and we are looking for an energetic, employee-focused, and highly organized HR Supervisor to join our leadership team.

This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a major start-up operation supporting approximately 600 employees during steady-state operations and scaling up to 1,200 employees during peak season in a fast-paced 24/7 environment.

As an HR Supervisor, you will play a critical role in building a positive employee experience, supporting operational leaders, driving engagement initiatives, and helping establish the culture and HR processes from Day 1.

What You'll Do

The HR Supervisor will support day-to-day HR operations for a large warehouse workforce while partnering closely with Operations, Safety, Training, Payroll, and Talent Acquisition teams. This role will help drive employee engagement, compliance, staffing support, and HR process execution across multiple shifts in a high-volume operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support HR operations for a large-scale warehouse workforce in a 24/7 environment
  • Partner with Operations leadership to support employee relations, engagement, and workforce planning
  • Assist with onboarding, orientation, and new hire integration
  • Coach leaders and employees on company policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Support investigations, corrective actions, and employee relations matters
  • Assist with attendance management and workforce stabilization initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Support recruiting, hiring events, and workforce ramp-up activities during peak periods
  • Maintain HR records and support reporting and analytics needs
  • Assist with leave management, accommodations, and workers' compensation coordination
  • Help drive employee engagement activities, communication programs, and retention initiatives
  • Support multiple shifts and flexible scheduling needs as required by the operation


What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of HR experience in warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or fast-paced operational environments
  • Prior experience supporting large hourly workforces preferred
  • Knowledge of California labor laws and HR compliance requirements
  • Strong employee relations and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to support flexible schedules in a 24/7 operation


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting start-up operations or rapid workforce growth
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
  • Experience with employee engagement and retention initiatives
  • Experience supporting high-volume staffing and onboarding activities
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred


About the Role

How you will contribute
  • Plan, coordinate work, train, motivate, monitor and evaluate performance of team members; ensure their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials.
  • Monitor and measure team member performance for accuracy and document on daily production metrics.
  • Identify and eliminate safety and housekeeping hazards to minimize workplace accidents.
  • Ensure compliance of employees to processes, work instructions, standard work and work elements.
  • Liaise with materials department to ensure on time receipt and shipment of material.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Your Key Qualifications
  • HS Diploma/GED required
  • Experience supervising in an Automotive, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain/Logistics facility.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience and or training regarding the Occupational Health & Safety, 5S, Lean Methodologies preferred.
  • Quality systems knowledge - to a reasonable level be able to monitor staff performance and costs within the department (including, but not limited to: time-keeping, quality, productivity, etc.)

Compensation

Annual Salary Range: $78,000 - $92,000

The salary range listed represents the anticipated compensation range for this position in California. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, skills, internal equity, and market conditions consistent with California pay transparency requirements. Additional incentive opportunities may be available based on individual and business performance.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position operates in both office and warehouse environments and may require:
  • Walking and standing for extended periods
  • Frequent interaction within warehouse operations
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Flexibility to support day, night, weekend, and peak schedules
