Pay Range: HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST- $32.42 to $51.88

Job Summary

The Leave Specialist coordinates the hospitals Leave of Absence program. Assist with benefits and workers compensation program as needed.

What You'll Bring to the Team:
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Employment laws and Leave laws, including ADA, FMLA, CFRA, and CA PDL and PFL.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
  • Knowledge of California Workers' Compensation and applicable laws, codes, rules and regulations to include regulatory agencies governing Workers' Compensation insurance programs.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology related to Workers' Compensation and federal regulations.
  • Knowledge of integration of leaves and benefits.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, procedures and techniques used to research, analyze and process data.
  • Knowledge of record-keeping and report preparation techniques. Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated judgment and confidentiality in handling private employee information.
  • Excellent grammar, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and resolve conflict when necessary.
  • Strong problem solving skills.

Education:
  • Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school supplemented by two years of college-level course work in business, human resources or a related field .

Experience:
  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years experience in leave administration, including workers' compensation.
