Human Resources Manager

PTM Corporation

PTM Corporation is seeking an experienced and hands-on Human Resources Manager to lead all aspects of Human Resources across our seven Michigan manufacturing facilities. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for developing HR strategy, supporting business growth, ensuring legal compliance, strengthening employee engagement, and building the systems and processes that will support our organization for years to come.

Working closely with company leadership, supervisors, and associates, you'll serve as the primary HR business partner while also coordinating Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives alongside our EHS Manager to promote a safe, compliant, and productive workplace.

What You'll Do

As our Human Resources Manager, you will:
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning across seven plant locations.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures that support PTM's mission and business objectives.
  • Serve as the primary resource for employee relations, investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with Michigan and federal employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, EEOC, HIPAA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Administer employee benefits, compensation programs, tuition reimbursement, and annual open enrollment.
  • Build and lead leadership development, apprenticeship, mentoring, and employee training programs.
  • Manage HR systems including ADP, Plex ERP, HR reporting, and key performance metrics.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company culture across all shifts and locations.
  • Develop succession planning and workforce development strategies to strengthen organizational capability.
  • Partner with the EHS Manager to support safety initiatives, workers' compensation, MIOSHA compliance, wellness programs, and environmental health efforts.
  • Supervise and develop the HR team, including the HR Generalist and HR Assistant/Recruiter.

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates will have:
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience
  • At least 2 years of HR leadership or supervisory experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Michigan and federal employment laws
  • Experience leading employee relations investigations and resolving complex workplace issues
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, ADP, Microsoft Office, and ERP platforms (Plex experience is a plus)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with employees at every level of the organization

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification (or currently pursuing certification)
  • Experience supporting IATF 16949 or ISO quality systems

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel between multiple manufacturing facilities
  • Regular plant-floor presence
  • Prolonged computer work
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds when necessary
