Title: Manager, Human Resources Location: GTA, Hybrid Position Status: Permanent Full-time Existing Vacancy: Yes Position Summary We're looking for an experienced, people focused Manager, Human Resources to lead our HR team across Ontario. Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, you'll directly manage a strong team through coaching, setting direction, and ensuring consistent, high-quality HR support province wide. You'll act as a trusted strategic partner to business leaders while overseeing the full breadth of HR, from talent acquisition and employee relations to compliance and people programs. Above all, you'll help build a high-performing HR function and a positive, inclusive workplace culture across our Ontario locations. Key Responsibilities People Leadership & Team Management • Lead, coach, and develop the Ontario-based HR team, setting clear expectations and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. • Oversee workload allocation, prioritization, and capacity planning across the HR team to ensure consistent service delivery across all Ontario locations. • Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance check-ins, and annual reviews for direct reports; support their professional growth and career development. • Act as an escalation point for complex HR matters raised, providing guidance and resolution support. • Champion a unified, collaborative team culture that reflects the organization's values and commitment to inclusion. • Lead or support the development and rollout of HR programs including total rewards, employee engagement, and wellness. HR Business Partnering • Serve as the senior HR advisor to leaders and people managers across Ontario, providing strategic guidance on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent strategies. • Partner with leadership on change management initiatives, ensuring consistent HR support and effective communication across Ontario sites. • Identify people trends and HR risks across the province; proactively develop solutions and escalate where appropriate. • Ensure all HR policies and practices comply with applicable employment legislation. • Support leave management (including WSIB, STD/LTD, parental leaves), and duty-to-accommodate processes across Ontario. • Maintain employee records and HRIS data; generate reports and HR metrics for senior leadership. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding • Manage end-to-end recruitment for assigned client groups, including job postings, screening, interviews, and offers. • Design and continuously improve the onboarding experience to drive early engagement and retention. Employee Relations & Performance Management • Investigate and resolve employee relations matters-including complaints, disciplinary actions, and terminations-in a fair, timely, and legally compliant manner. • Support performance improvement plans, coaching conversations, and annual review processes. • Serve as a resource for conflict resolution, ensuring a respectful and inclusive work environment. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. • Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a people management role (directly leading HR professionals). • Strong working knowledge of employment legislation. • Demonstrated experience managing employee relations matters and conducting workplace investigations. • Ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing HR teams across multiple locations. • Experience providing HR support across a geographically distributed workforce. • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office / Google Workspace. • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to influence at all levels. • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Preferred • CHRP or CHRL designation (or active pursuit thereof). • Experience in a multi-site operation. • Working knowledge of WSIB processes, STD/LTD administration, and duty-to-accommodate obligations.
