Position Overview:The Human Resources Manager serves as the primary HR partner for both our Corporate Office in Stoughton, WI, and our manufacturing facility in Madison, WI. This position partners with business leaders to align people strategies with business objectives while providing hands-on support in employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, compliance, payroll and benefits administration, leave management, HR reporting, and employee engagement.
This is a full-time, exempt position requiring 100% on-site support, with time divided between the Stoughton Corporate Office and Madison plant.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:Business Partnership & Employee Relations
- Partner with corporate leadership and plant management to support business objectives and workforce initiatives
- Provide coaching and guidance on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and employment practices.
- Conduct employee investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions
- Foster employee engagement and support organizational change initiatives
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Management
- Lead hourly recruiting, with an emphasis on skilled manufacturing positions (Plant)
- Coordinate interviewing, hiring, onboarding, orientation, and offboarding activities
- Support workforce planning and retention initiatives
HR Operations
- Administer payroll, benefits, attendance, leave of absence, workers' compensation, and return-to-work programs
- Maintain employee records and HCM (UKG Pro) data integrity
- Generate and analyze HR reporting including headcount, turnover, absenteeism, and recruiting activity
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
Training & Organizational Development
- Identify training needs and coordinate employee and leadership development initiatives
- Support management coaching and continuous improvement efforts
- Partner with Corporate HR on company-wide HR programs and special projects
Other Corporate Responsibilities
- Affirmative Action Program - Monitor plans across all US sites for the company; maintain records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations; file EEO-1 and VETS reports annually
- Assist HR team with any reporting/data requests from HCM (UKG Pro) or other systems
- Provide ad hoc reports to other departments/managers as requested
- Subject Matter Expert for HCM System and reporting
- Manage UKG Pro upgrade projects
- Assist and support relocation administration ensuring accurate payment and tracking of relocation costs
Required Education & Experience:- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field preferred. Would consider applicable experience in lieu of degree
- Five (5) or more years of progressive HR leadership experience
- Experience with employee relations, recruiting, payroll, benefits, leave administration, compliance, and performance management
- Strong HCM experience, including creating and modifying ad hoc reporting. Experience with UKG Pro and Workforce Management preferred
Preferred Experience:- HR experience in a manufacturing, construction, or distribution center environment desired.
- SHRM or HRCI Certification preferred.

Working Conditions- This is primarily an indoor office position requiring frequent sitting and occasional standing and walking
- May occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds
- Frequent reaching (desk/waist level, overhead), occasionally reaching below waist level
- Frequent use of computer/mouse and typing
- Frequently driving and/or traveling
- May spend time walking or on concrete floors in a manufacturing environment
- Frequently required to learn new tasks, adapting to changes in the work environment
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
