Position Description

Title: Human Resources Manager I

Department: Human Resources

Immediate Supervisor: Regional HR Director

Status: Exempt Salaried

Overall Responsibilities
  • Directs and coordinates human resources activities in compliance with company philosophy, objectives, and legal requirements
  • Partners with the Operations Manager and local leadership team
  • Recommends and directs the installation of programs and policies that create or reinforce a positive employee relations atmosphere
  • Participates in corporate human resources activities and teams
  • Promotes a positive work environment and people-focused programs and processes that foster continuous development and support of the facility
  • Leads all HR activities for the Midland site including but not limited to recruitment, engagement, compensation administration, organizational development, and labor relations

Educational and Experience Requirements
  • Degree in related field and/or minimum of ten years' progressive experience in Human Resources in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, tact, maturity and flexibility
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with employee relations including coaching and resolving grievances
  • Conflict resolution skills, with the ability to gain trust and work through others to achieve goals
  • Strong problem-solving capability
  • Labor relations and collective bargaining experience is a plus
  • Collaborative and energetic with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and in a high-paced team environment with changing priorities
