Human Resources Manager

Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing core HR functions including payroll administration, regulatory compliance, workers' compensation, HRIS systems, benefits administration, employee relations, and internal audits. This role ensures that HR operations run efficiently and in alignment with company policies and legal requirements. As a key member of the HR leadership team, the HR Manager provides expert support and guidance to employees and managers throughout the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure accurate, timely bi-weekly payroll processing in coordination with the Payroll Administrator


  • Manage HRIS platforms and ensure data integrity and system accurate


  • Administer company benefits programs and assist in open enrollment processes


  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws across all jurisdictions


  • Coordinate and manage workers' compensation claims, return-to-work programs, and related compliance activities


  • Conduct or oversee internal HR audits to ensure proper documentation and adherence to procedures


  • Provide support for employee relations matters, investigations, and conflict resolution; as well as assisting with new employee orientation


  • Collaborate with legal and compliance partners on labor-related risks or escalations


  • Partner with the HR team to support strategic HR projects and process improvements


Non-Essential Duties

  • Assist in developing and updating HR policies and employee handbook content


  • Represent the HR department in cross-functional initiatives and committees


  • Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required


  • Minimum 4 years of progressive HR experience with expertise in payroll, benefits, and compliance


  • Knowledge of federal and California labor laws (multi-state experience preferred)


  • Experience with HRIS platforms such as Dayforce, ADP, or similar systems


  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills


  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, primarily Excel
