Full Job Description
Encore Village of Schaumburg is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to oversee HR operations at our beautiful community, which includes Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and Independent Living services all within one campus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, state requirements, and federal and state labor laws.
• Oversee onboarding processes at the community level, including credential verification, licensure tracking, and maintenance of employee records.
• Coordinate and facilitate general orientation programs for new staff.
• Conduct regular audits of employee files, pay profiles, and leave documentation to ensure data integrity, compliance, and accuracy.
• Lead HR-related components of CMS and state survey readiness for Skilled Nursing, including personnel file compliance and training documentation.
• Manage employee relations matters, investigations, corrective action, and performance management processes.
• Lead payroll administration and full-cycle leave management, including FMLA, military leave, ADA accommodations, state-mandated leave, and other federal and company-sponsored leave programs, ensuring accurate processing and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with department leaders to proactively address staffing needs and workforce planning.
• Train and coach managers on policy application, documentation standards, coaching conversations, and progressive discipline processes.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support community operations and organizational objectives.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• 3+ years of Human Resources experience
• Healthcare or Skilled Nursing experience preferred
• Knowledge of CMS regulations and healthcare staffing requirements
• Strong employee relations and compliance background
• PHR certification preferred; SPHR a plus
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence effectively, and solve complex problems.
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Able to comprehend, analyze and interpret complex human resources related documents. Respond respectfully and effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
• Extensive knowledge of principles of human resources, including commonly used guidelines and laws on employment and liability
• Extensive knowledge of performance management and customer-service programs
