Full Job Description
As a Human Resources Business Partner, you'll play a key role in supporting leaders and employees across our mining operations. We're looking for someone who is relationship-focused, business-minded, and confident navigating complex people matters, helping leaders make informed decisions while fostering a positive employee experience.

In this role, you'll become a trusted advisor to your client group, partnering with leaders on workforce planning, employee and labour relations, workplace investigations, talent development, and day-to-day HR guidance. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys working closely with operations and making a meaningful impact on both people and business outcomes.

Location:Fort McMurray, AB.
Salary:$95,000-$110,000 annually, plus applicable travel and regional wage allowances.
Work arrangement:Hybrid - providing the flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.
Schedule:Monday to Friday.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with leaders and employees to provide responsive, practical HR support across the employee lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain trusted working relationships with the assigned client groups.
  • Coach and advise supervisors, managers, and employees on HR policies, procedures, and workplace matters.
  • Maintain a regular connection with operational leaders to understand emerging business and people priorities.
  • Support employee and labour relations matters, including workplace investigations, documentation, and issue resolution.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the employee experience, develop high-performing teams, and reinforce company values.
  • Collaborate with HR Centres of Expertise to support consistent delivery of HR programs and services.
  • Work with HR support partners to maintain accurate HR information and deliver reliable reporting to the business.
  • Partner with Compensation to develop job descriptions, participate in job evaluations, and provide compensation guidance to leaders.
  • Monitor relevant employment legislation and support compliance through aligned policies, practices, and procedures.


What You Bring

The ideal candidate will bringrelated post-secondary education and minimum of two years of experience in an HR Business Partner capacity, with the practical judgment and business awareness needed to provide credible advice in a complex operational environment. Experience supporting employee relations matters and conducting workplace investigations in a unionized environment will help you contribute effectively from the outset. Additional qualifications include:

  • Broad generalist knowledge across multiple areas of human resources.
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation, labour relations, and HR policies and practices.
  • CPHR or similar designation an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • Proficiency with HRIS software (UKGPro an asset) and the Microsoft Office Suite of applications.
  • Excellent organization and follow-through when managing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative HR team.
