The Opportunity:Our client in the financial services industry is seeking an experienced and business-minded Human Resources Business Partner to join their growing team. In this role, you will partner closely with leaders across the organization to enhance employee engagement, strengthen talent strategies, and support organizational effectiveness. You'll have the opportunity to influence key people decisions, lead impactful HR initiatives, and help foster a positive and high-performing culture. Reporting into senior leadership, this position offers a blend of strategic partnership and hands-on execution, while also providing leadership and mentorship to an HR Generalist.
What You'll Be Doing: - Act as a trusted advisor to leaders by providing strategic and practical guidance on workforce planning, performance management, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness.
- Develop strong partnerships with business leaders to understand evolving needs and deliver proactive talent and workforce solutions.
- Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, talent development, succession planning, and retention initiatives.
- Mentor and provide day-to-day leadership to an HR Generalist, offering coaching, direction, and opportunities for professional development.
- Champion continuous improvement by analyzing trends, identifying opportunities, and implementing people programs and processes that support business objectives.
- Lead employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and company policies.
- Help cultivate a positive employee experience and contribute to building an engaging, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
- Partner with stakeholders on key HR projects and initiatives that enhance organizational capability and support long-term growth.
What You'll Need To Be Successful: - 5-10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including experience operating in an HR Business Partner capacity.
- Solid knowledge of Canadian employment legislation, employment standards, and HR best practices.
- Strong business acumen with a genuine interest in understanding the organization and contributing as a strategic partner.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and relatively flat organizational structure.
- Previous experience mentoring, coaching, or supervising HR team members would be considered an asset.
- CHRP or CHRL designation in good standing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong relationship management, conflict resolution, negotiation, and diplomacy skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities, with sound judgment and a proactive approach to decision-making.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
- The ability to perform effectively in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and tight timelines.
- A collaborative approach and a genuine desire to contribute as a valued member of the team.
- Experience working with Workday or other HRIS platforms, along with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and exposure to AI-enabled tools and technologies.
Compensation Range: $110,000 - $120,000 + Bonus.
