Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business leaders on resource forecasting and employee status tracking
  • Manage college recruiting programs to ensure consistent talent sourcing
  • Partner with talent acquisition for candidate selection across all levels
  • Coordinate onboarding logistics for new hires and internal transfers
  • Investigate employee relations issues according to company processes
  • Conduct exit interviews to gather employee feedback
  • Work with legal counsel on immigration compliance for employees
  • Develop and implement training programs on HR processes and compliance
  • Facilitate HR training sessions on systems and performance evaluation
  • Track and document employee relations issues to identify trends
  • Recommend employee development activities based on identified trends

Overview

Flatiron Dragados is seeking a strategic and collaborative Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our Canadian operations. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, you will work closely with corporate/project leaders, HR partners, and HR Centres of Expertise (COEs) to drive workforce planning, talent mobility, and to support the effective delivery of people strategies aligned to business needs.

What you will be doing
  • Act as a trusted advisor to corporate/project leaders, providing guidance on employee relations matters, performance management, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Partner with internal legal counsel to manage and resolve complex employee issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and compliance with Canadian employment legislation.
  • Support and coach leaders on performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, development planning, and performance improvement.
  • Partner with the Total Rewards COE on compensation planning, salary reviews, and job evaluations to ensure alignment with internal equity and market competitiveness.
  • Work closely with the Talent Acquisition COE to support workforce planning efforts and ensure a strong pipeline of talent aligned with current and future business needs.
  • Monitor and analyze key HR metrics (e.g., turnover) and provide actionable insights to business leaders.
  • Schedules and facilitates HR trainings regarding Company systems, performance and compensation evaluation reviews, compliance trainings and Company programs
What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field required.  
  • 7+ years’ Human Resource Generalist experience required.  
  • Prior OD/OE and change management experience preferred. 
  • Construction industry or related industry experience preferred.  
  • Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR), Global Professional of Human Resources (GPHR), Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) certifications preferred 
  • Valid Driver’s License 
  • Able to build relationships with internal and external business contacts required.  
  • Able to influence with or without authority at all levels of the business.  
  • Strong time-management skills required. Able to maintain professional composure under tight deadlines or sensitive situations. 
  • Demonstrated track record of partnering with the leaders to provide human capital solutions 
  • Developed employment law and HR compliance knowledge required.    
  • Developing critical-thinking and analytical skills.  
  • Strong verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills required.  
  • Able to maintain confidentiality over employment records, inquiries, medical information, investigations and other employment related items required.
