OverviewHeadquarters United States Air Force, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration.
ResponsibilitiesProvide full-spectrum military, civilian and joint personnel human resource management for multi-service staff. Manage in/out-processing, evaluations, promotions, reassignments, deployments, retirements, awards, and decorations. Forecast manning turnover and shortfalls; perform recruitment and staffing efforts to backfill civilian and military vacancies.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the team member on-boarding and termination processes and associated documentation
- Answer questions or concerns regarding government employee benefits, policies, practices, and regulations.
- Ensure team member records are current by processing status changes in the government personnel records systems.
- Assist with providing guidance of the performance review process, goal planning, and compensation.
- Assist with supporting initiatives and activities for team members to include one-time and recurring training.
- Assist with maintaining compliance with employment laws and regulations by staying abreast of current HR practices and changes in employment laws and regulations.
- Assist with posting and tracking civilian hiring actions via USA Jobs and other associated job boards.
- Assist with maintaining the currency of organizational position descriptions.
- Assist with providing and interpreting organizational HR policy guidance.
- Assist with conducting exit Interviews and perform qualitative data analysis of turnover, discipline, and other metrics.
- Coordinate with the resource directorate to obtain the organization's Unit Manpower Documents (UMDs) and Unit Personnel Management Rosters (UPMRs) respectively for senior leadership use and review.
- Create, maintain, and provide recurring and ad hoc products to leadership, including organizational charts, manning documents, and facilities reports.
Skills RequiredSkills Required:
- Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience working successfully with senior executives at multiple organizational levels.
- Demonstrated proficiency with using Microsoft Office and other standard computer applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to plan, execute, and complete multiple concurrent projects and action items central to the organization's business processes.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing work environments while maintaining flexibility and versatility.
- Familiarity with task management and workflow processes and tools.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with Defense Space and National Security Space in the areas of policy, strategy, requirements, capabilities, architectures, programs, acquisition, and operations.
- Familiarity with civil, commercial and international space capabilities.
- Experience with AFSPC, SMC, NRO, NASA, NOAA.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent, plus 15 - 20 yrs applicable experience in an Engineering, Scientific, Business, Analysis, Policy, Communications, or Planning field related to Defense Space.
EducationBachelor's degree required, preferably in math, engineering, or the sciences.
