Salary Details

The salary range for this position is CAD $32.44/Hr. - CAD $46.64/Hr.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources & Labour Relations (HR & LR), the Human Resources Analyst provides operational and analytical support across a range of HR & LR programs. This role applies knowledge of employment legislation, interprets collective agreements, applies VCH policies, and uses HR information systems and data tools to support evidence-based decision-making and service delivery in partnership with operational leaders.

As a Human Resources Analyst with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Provide consultative support to operational leaders and staff on displacement processes and the interpretation and application of collective agreement provisions.
  • Coordinate and administer union leave requests and associated billing processes.
  • Conduct analysis and provide recommendations to support the administration of an Attendance Management Program, including partnering with managers on attendance trends and follow-up actions.
  • Monitor and support compliance with collective agreement, organizational and regulatory requirements, including casual accountability, professional registration/licensure, and criminal record checks.
  • Perform research, data analysis, and documentation to support HR & LR Advisors, leadership, and organizational initiatives.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations using HR data to inform workforce planning, operational decisions, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Contribute to HR & LR projects and process improvements, including workforce optimization initiatives and program enhancements.

Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with emphasis on Human Resources and two (2) years of related experience in a large and complex organization, or a combination of education, training and experience.
  • Proficient computer skills with word processing, spreadsheet and graphics programs and confirmed expertise in database programs, e.g. MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access.


Knowledge & Abilities
  • Strong decision-making, critical thinking, analystical and problem solving Applies excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments and schedule activities in a manner that optimizes departmental effectiveness and maintains customer relations.
  • Applies expertise in the interpretation of collective agreement provisions, government legislation and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Utilizes expert investigative and analytical skills to research and analyze documents/data/information in the creation and generation of background information, reports and special projects.
  • Effectively and courteously utilizes both verbal and written communication skills when providing advice and interpretations on displacement/bumping related issues to management and staff.
  • Utilizes strong administrative and technical skills when producing reports, maintaining and ensuring accessibility and security of electronic and manual filing systems to manage ER records.
