Job SummaryIn this role, you will lead and oversee various aspects of Human Resources, including onboarding and terminations, managing benefits administration, review timecards and assist in payroll processing, and fostering positive employee relations. You will develop and deliver HR training to support employee processes, ethics, safety, and compliance initiatives. Additionally, you will manage yearly evaluation processes and ensure the organization complies with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as company policies and internal requirements.
You will collaborate with the CEO, CoS, CFO, General Managers, Presidents, and Program Managers to cultivate a healthy, thriving work environment. This position reports directly to the Chief of Staff. This is an in-office position.
Duties/Responsibilities- Lead recruitment efforts and collaborate with department leaders to address staffing needs.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless employee transition experience.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee questions about benefits, timekeeping, payroll, and HR policies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve HR processes, systems, and employee communications.
- Handle all former employee correspondence and manage employee verification requests.
- Oversee benefits administration, including annual policy evaluations to optimize cost-effectiveness.
- Provide guidance on updates to the employee handbook to align with company policies and regulations.
- Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local HR regulations, ensuring accurate reporting for ACA, VETS, EEO-1, and other federal requirements.
- Ensure adherence to multi-state employment laws in all operational regions.
- Coordinate state-specific requirements related to hiring, onboarding, payroll, leave, wage and hour practices, required notices, personnel records, and employee separations.
- Administer employee leave.
- Coordinate ADA accommodations.
- Administer requirements for worker's compensation claims and reporting.
- Develop and maintain training programs to enhance employee skills and support organizational objectives.
- Conduct employee surveys to assess engagement and gather feedback to improve workplace culture.
- Conduct employee relations investigations and address grievances to promote a positive work environment.
- Advise senior leadership on HR risks and recommend strategies to mitigate them.
- If requested, be present at Performance Improvement and termination meetings to provide HR support and ensure process consistency.
- May handle terminations for cause and layoffs, ensuring compliance and sensitivity during these processes.
- Draft and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for processes such as offer letters, onboarding, and terminations.
- Manage HR systems, including the HRIS platform (isolved), providing employee training for payroll, benefits, and HR tools.
- Oversee the "people" side of the Unanet system, including project assignments, leave accruals, and timesheet compliance.
- Inform accounting of payroll needs each payroll, including any PTO payouts, payroll discrepancies, changes in pay, etc.
- Create instructional content, such as videos, for employee education on HR systems and processes.
- Lead the hiring platform (iHire) to support job postings and recruitment needs.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, managing partnerships with insurance brokers, benefits providers, and HRIS/payroll systems.
- Support the development and administration of compensation programs, including salary reviews, merit increases, promotions, internal equity, and compensation changes.
- Partner with leadership to ensure compensation practices are consistent, competitive, appropriately documented, and aligned with company objectives.
- Stay current with employment laws and HR trends through continued education and professional development.
- Maintain required Federal, state and local postings and employee notices.
- Support organizational change management by ensuring consistency in branding and communication during transitions.
- Supervise HR activities, ensuring efficient communication, reporting, and documentation across all functions.
