The Human Capital Operations Manager serves as an influential leader and is responsible for all human resources activities for the Saint-Laurent and Ottawa sites. The incumbent is a recognized leader in their field and provides ongoing support in labour relations, organizational design, training, competency development, organizational development, succession planning and critical roles management, workforce planning, as well as employee engagement.

The Human Capital Operations Manager also acts as a coach and strategic partner to the leadership teams and Human Capital Business Partners for the sites under their responsibility.

  • Salary scale 006: $: 100 900 to $126 100 (Base salary will be determined based on your academic background, experience, training, and skills related to the position.)


What you'll be responsible for each day:

  • Act as a key member of the site leadership teams and influence decisions related to human capital.
  • Supervise, support, and develop the Human Capital Business Partner under your responsibility, while also serving as a coach to the broader Human Capital team.
  • Implement the Human Capital strategic action plan across the sites you support.
  • Participate in large-scale projects that impact employees and ensure effective change management.
  • Provide leadership in labour relations, including the interpretation of collective agreements, policies, applicable laws, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with Human Capital Centres of Expertise, including Labour Relations, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Health and Wellness, Organizational Development, and Talent Management.
  • Contribute to organizational development, performance management, succession planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture and support the management of return-to-work cases.


The individual who will own this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, or another related field.
  • Eight to ten years of experience as an HR generalist, ideally in a unionized, multi-site manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment and labour laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a strategic partner, coach, and change agent to leadership teams.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Bilingualism in French and English, both spoken and written.
  • Professional certification in Human Resources or Industrial Relations is considered an asset.
