About the Role: As a CBRE Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Sr. Manager, you will lead the development, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide health, safety, and environmental programs supporting one of CBRE's premier clients. This role is responsible for establishing policies, standards, and best practices that promote a strong culture of safety, ensure regulatory compliance, mitigate operational risk, and drive environmental sustainability initiatives across a global portfolio.
As part of the Health, Safety & Environment function, you will partner closely with client stakeholders, operational teams, and executive leadership to design and implement scalable HSE programs, develop global standards and procedures, monitor regulatory requirements, and drive consistent program execution across multiple regions. You will also oversee program performance measurement, reporting, incident management, audits, risk assessments, emergency preparedness, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure alignment with client objectives, industry standards, and enterprise risk frameworks.
The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with expertise in HSE program development, governance, compliance, and data-driven decision-making. They will possess the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, translate complex regulatory and business requirements into practical solutions, and drive measurable improvements in health, safety, environmental, and operational performance within a complex global services environment.
What You'll Do:- Develop, implement, and continuously enhance global Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies, standards, governance frameworks, and enterprise-wide programs that support organizational objectives, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Lead the design, rollout, and continuous improvement of HSE initiatives, including workplace safety, ergonomics, emergency preparedness, incident management, contractor safety, and environmental sustainability programs.
- Create and maintain standardized procedures, playbooks, guidance materials, training programs, and operational tools to drive consistent execution across global operations.
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed to support program implementation, stakeholder engagement, site assessments, audits, and training initiatives. Anticipated travel is approximately 30-40% during the initial phases of the role.
- Monitor, assess, and mitigate health, safety, environmental, and operational risks through proactive risk assessments, audits, inspections, and corrective action programs.
- Establish and manage HSE performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting; analyze incident, audit, inspection, and compliance data to identify trends, determine root causes, and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, federal, international, and client-specific regulations, while supporting audits, inspections, regulatory inquiries, and long-term compliance strategies.
- Partner with senior client stakeholders, operational leaders, and cross-functional teams including Facilities, Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, Security, and Business Continuity to embed HSE principles throughout the organization.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership by providing strategic guidance on HSE matters, regulatory requirements, risk mitigation, and operational decision-making.

What You'll Need:- Bachelor's degree preferred with 5-8 years of experience in Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE), risk management, compliance, occupational safety, environmental management, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, OSHA certifications, or other relevant HSE credentials are preferred. Additional certifications may be required based on client or regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and managing HSE policies, standards, procedures, and enterprise-wide programs within complex, multi-site, or global organizations.
- Experience supporting global operations, including an understanding of regional regulatory requirements, cultural considerations, and the ability to drive consistent HSE program execution across multiple geographies.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver HSE training programs, awareness initiatives, and communications that promote compliance, employee engagement, and a strong safety culture.
- Strong knowledge of applicable health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, with experience interpreting regulations and translating them into practical, business-focused solutions.
- Experience utilizing HSE management systems and reporting tools such as Enablon, Benchmark Gensuite, Power BI, AI-enabled technologies, or similar platforms to manage compliance, analyze performance, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience assessing risk, investigating incidents, identifying trends, and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-making and build credibility with employees, clients, and senior leadership across all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple initiatives, manage competing priorities, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

New York Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the HSE Sr. Manager position is $170,000 annually and the maximum salary for the HSE Sr. Manager position is $180,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
