POSITION SUMMARY

This position's overall mission is to help operations achieve effective daily HSE execution and build a culture that sustains performance. Primary objectives are to: (1) Assist site personnel in understanding and managing hazards and compliance obligations, (2) facilitate the development of site HSE programs and implementation plans with stakeholder input and leadership buy-in, and (3) build relationships with all stakeholders and influence their perspective to drive needed leadership behaviors and culture, and (4) effectively lead the HSE team.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
• Walk the floor regularly with the intention of understanding site HSE performance, operational challenges, individual challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Supervise and lead the site HSE team, achieving excellence in operational support, functional expertise and tasks, and teamwork.
• Perform detailed operational hazard assessments and help operations in mitigation efforts.
• Identify site compliance obligations, ensure processes are in place for sustained compliance, and perform or coordinate associated HSE responsibilities (e.g. respiratory protection program fit testing, noise surveys, water sampling, emissions reporting, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with Kelvion global standards and expectations by facilitating the development of site programs or implementation plans with operational leadership and local stakeholders.
• Ensure continuous assessment of site HSE implementation and performance, transparency in results for leadership and stakeholders, and facilitate the tracking of improvement initiatives.
• Develop, track, and present status updates on quarterly objectives and key results (OKRs) and monthly KPIs.
• Coordinate critical proactive processes and the collection, analysis, and presentation of associated data (e.g. site HSE committee, observation process, safety meetings, etc.).
• Provide technical HSE support and information to production and office personnel.
• Identify company HSE training needs and develop and coordinate training programs and tracking.
• Participate in new product/process reviews including process hazard analyses, operator training, etc.
• Support plant engineering to implement engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards.
• Support plant personnel in the selection and management of personal protective equipment.
• Maintain HSE documentation, forms, and standards.
• Review process operating procedures/batch records and provide input for safety and health considerations.
• Monitor and communicate Federal and State (Tennessee) HSE regulations and recommend practical solutions for compliance.
• Serve as the agency liaison for federal and state safety and environmental agencies (OSHA, EPA, TDEC, DOT, etc.).
• File Worker's Compensation Claims, monitor each case's progression, and update site leadership as needed.
• Help ensure effective incident response, investigation, cause analysis, and report development. Serve as a resource, facilitator, and process expert in investigations and causal analysis.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to Global Code of Business Principles, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Vision and Values, Operational Framework
• Provide input and assist the Americas division HSE team in the development of divisional HSE standards, problem solving, and sharing of best practices.

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)
• Ability to build relationships, effectively manage conflict, and influence stakeholders.
• Effective verbal and written communication with all levels and groups the organization.
• Ability to facilitate and coordinate the effective execution of a local HSE program with real improvement over time.
• Ability to work effectively with regulatory agencies, consultants and other contractor personnel.
• Knowledge of manufacturing operations, hazards, regulations (OSHA, EPA, TDEC, etc.) and associated industry best practices.
• Proficiency in MS products.
• Technically accurate and professional written work products.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Inherent desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that rewards progress and value.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, or BS in other with CSP or CHMM
• 7+ years of progressive HSE experience, including 3+ years of people and program leadership.
• CSP (Certified Safety Professional) and CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) certifications strongly preferred.
• Prefer experience with safety management systems (e.g., ISO 45001)
