Full Job Description
YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

The HSE Manager II is an entry-level Manager position. This role supports the implementation and oversight of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices across multiple project sites with an emphasis on team leadership and development. Other responsibilities include plan development and implementation, hazard identification, conducting incident investigations, identifying safety training needs for multiple projects, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards. The position also involves mentoring junior team members and collaborating with field leadership, subcontractors, and customers to maintain a safe and productive work environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Plans and assigns work for team members.
  • Monitors progress and performance of team and safety programs, taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Teaches, coaches, and develops direct reports and wider safety team members.
  • Identify, document, and recommend corrective actions for hazardous conditions; ensure timely resolution.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings and develop site-specific safety plans.
  • Identify team and site personnel training needs and coordinate/deliver safety training based on program needs.
  • Lead injury and incident investigations; conduct analysis and share lessons learned.
  • Act as lead in pre-task planning and job site safety meetings.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure understanding and compliance with REI safety standards. Flags areas of concern.
  • Coordinate with field leadership to identify training needs and high-risk activities and ensure compliance with Project Safety Plans.
  • Ensure compliance with LOTO procedures and first-time energization protocols.
  • Review Step-by-Steps and Method of Procedures (MOPs).
  • Issue and monitor permits as required.
  • Interpret project one-line diagrams.
  • Apply NFPA 70E guidelines, including PPE and approach distances.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of company HSE standards, programs, and goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring a safe and productive environment by enforcing established HSE standards across projects.
  • Compile and analyze safety data; prepare reports in compliance with regulations.
  • Conducts and leads emergency planning as needed.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and manage team members.
  • Ability to manage and de-escalate difficult conversations.
  • Professional interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
  • 4-year related degree and 6 years related experience plus CHST certification or 9 years relevant experience and CHST.
  • Ability to spend 80% of working time on active construction sites.


TRAVEL:
  • Up to 25 % as needed


WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
