ou are an established Health & Safety Lead with an extensive pipeline background that includes minimum 5+ years of leading HS&E pipeline projects.
You will play a key role in the execution and implementation of a diverse range of health and safety programs and can expect to work on challenging pipeline projects with diverse and collaborative teams to meet and exceed Ledcor’s safety standards.
This position is site-based and the specific rotation schedule and project location will be determined based on project requirements.
Conduct inspections of the work area and meet with field supervisors to discuss any potential problems: help to ensure the adequate supply of safety equipment, such as protective equipment, fire extinguishers, respirators, etc.
Advise operations regarding Ledcor's Health and Safety Management System, based on a solid understanding of program execution throughout the project lifecycle
Monitor compliance with jurisdictional regulatory requirements
Assists in the coordination and completion of safe work procedures, hazard assessments, safety inspections, focus audits and incident investigations
Verify compliance with leading and lagging indicators, including subcontractors as well as any identified corrective actions
Conduct the HS&E Orientation to employees and subcontractors during project onboarding.
Provide support to site leadership in the preparation of site-specific material for safety meetings and toolbox talks
Support the coordination, organization and delivery of project toolbox talks and safety meetings
Develop and enhance Job Hazard Analysis and Safe Work Practice documents based on existing materials
Monitor and report on the overall effectiveness of the overall implementation of project HS&E plans
Audit the quality of the field level hazard assessments and incident investigation reports for accuracy and completeness
Assist with the implementation of occupational hygiene practices and have awareness of medical screening programs
5+ years of related work experience within the pipeline industry
Must hold a CRSP, Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or NCSO designation
Has developed technical knowledge of common construction practices, techniques, and equipment within the Pipeline Construction and/or Pipeline Maintenance Industries – experience on mountainous pipeline projects considered an asset
Ability to effectively communicate and present information to the hourly workforce, while also effectively interacting with project management staff, clients, and customers
Ability to provide a proactive approach to safety, to include identification of operational and organizational issues, as well as develop and implement strategies to solve them
Demonstrated experience in risk assessment, program development, safety & health training, and accident investigation
Capable of adapting information/style to the audience, explaining difficult information clearly, influencing, and persuading others towards consensus agreement in straightforward situations
A strong team player attitude with the ability to effectively adjust to changing priorities and demands
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong computer competency including experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Must have and maintain a valid provincial driver’s license and driver's abstract
Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements
