Full Job Description
About the Role

As our HR Operations Manager, you will own the day-to-day people operations that keep Steer running smoothly and make it a great place to work. You will be the go-to resource for employees on everything from onboarding to benefits, the guardian of our HR compliance and records, and a hands-on partner to leadership as we scale the team. This is a builder role: you will refine existing processes, create new ones, and put in place the HR foundation for our next stage of growth.

This is an in-office position based at our Dallas, TX headquarters.

Requirements
What You'll Do
  • Own the full employee lifecycle: offer letters, background checks, onboarding, internal transfers, and offboarding
  • Administer payroll, benefits, and leave programs, including open enrollment and day-to-day employee questions
  • Manage our HRIS and employee records with accuracy, confidentiality, and audit-ready discipline
  • Ensure compliance with federal, Texas, and local employment laws; maintain the employee handbook, policies, and required trainings (including HIPAA and security awareness coordination)
  • Support recruiting operations: job postings, interview scheduling, candidate communications, and offer processing
  • Run performance review and feedback cycles, and equip managers with the tools to lead well
  • Handle employee relations matters with discretion, empathy, and sound judgment
  • Lead engagement, culture, and recognition programs for our Dallas office
  • Manage HR vendors (payroll, benefits brokers, background check providers) and continuously improve our tooling
  • Build and maintain people reporting: headcount, hiring pipeline, retention, and other key metrics for leadership
What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including hands-on ownership of HR operations or a generalist function
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment; healthcare or SaaS background is a strong plus
  • Working knowledge of federal and Texas employment law and HR compliance requirements
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS and payroll platforms (e.g., Rippling, Gusto, ADP, BambooHR)
  • Impeccable discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle competing priorities without dropping the ball
  • Clear, warm communication style; you build trust quickly with employees at every level
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field; SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus
  • Ability to work on-site full time at our Dallas, TX office

Benefits
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonus
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Paid time off and company holidays
  • A ground-floor opportunity to shape the people function at a fast-growing, award-winning healthcare AI company
  • A collaborative, high-energy office culture where your work is visible and your impact is immediate
