HR Manager (US)

Department: People

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: Atlanta

Reporting To: Ana Alvarez

Description

We are looking for a hands-on HR Manager to be our dedicated people lead in the US. As we significantly grow our Atlanta team this year, you'll take ownership of the full employee lifecycle, from HR operations and compliance through to employee relations, manager coaching, and building scalable people practices.

This is a pivotal role and an exciting opportunity to shape HR in a growing business. You'll lead HR for our US workforce, with administrative support from our Office & Recruitment Coordinator and strategic guidance from our Global HR team on complex matters. Day-to-day, this role is yours to own. We're looking for someone who thrives in a scaling environment, brings structure where it's needed, and genuinely cares about creating a people-first culture.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate employee records across HR systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Own HR compliance across the US, ensuring policies and practices remain aligned with federal, state, and local employment legislation, with particular focus on Georgia.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve scalable HR policies, processes, and documentation to support a growing US workforce.
  • Manage employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, and exit interviews.
  • Partner with the Office & Recruitment Coordinator to deliver a seamless onboarding experience and support hiring administration.

Employee Relations
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, handling cases with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgement.
  • Coach and advise managers on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and people decisions.
  • Escalate complex or high-risk cases to the Global HR team with clear recommendations and supporting documentation.
  • Support performance review cycles and promote a consistent, fair, and high-performing culture.

People & Culture
  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning as the Atlanta team continues to grow.
  • Build trusted relationships with managers and employees, fostering an inclusive and engaging workplace.
  • Collaborate with the Learning & Development Manager to identify capability gaps and deliver targeted development initiatives.
  • Continuously improve HR processes and employee experience, identifying opportunities to simplify, strengthen, and scale the way we work.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including experience independently managing employee relations and HR operations in a growing organisation.
  • Previous experience as an HR Manager, Senior HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, or similar role.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or equivalent HR certification.
  • Strong working knowledge of US employment law, with experience supporting employees in Georgia; multi-state experience is advantageous.
  • Confident coaching managers and handling complex employee relations matters independently.
  • Equally comfortable balancing strategic initiatives with operational delivery.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Collaborative, pragmatic, and approachable, with the ability to build trust at all levels.
  • Based in the Atlanta area and happy to work on-site most days.
  • Experience within fintech, financial services, or technology is desirable but not essential.

Benefits
  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • 401(k) / IRA Retirement Plan
  • Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
  • Family Leave (Maternity & Paternity)
