As an HR partner at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll support strategic initiatives that enable our mission of making the world healthier, cleaner and safer. Location: On-site in Rockford, IL. Relocation assistance is NOT provided.

Discover Impactful WorkThis is an impactful role for the organization requiring the ability to truly partner with business leaders supporting/driving tactical and critical initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated self-starter who has strong and well-rounded HR background to progress their career as an HR Manager. As a trusted advisor to the site, business and functional leaders, this role will guide and take action in all aspects of HR including: Performance Management, Employee Relations, Compensation, Engagement and Retention.
Key Responsibilities - Provides high level HR expertise, support and coaching to managers on HR policies and processes, people management, and career development
- Professional HR certifications a plus
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, and best practices
- Coaches managers on issues including application of HR policies and processes, investigations, talent management, and organizational development.
- Partners with the talent acquisition team to drive recruitment efforts
- Conduct compensation analysis in partnership with subject matter authorities to resolve local compensation needs and actions.
- Support our HR platforms (i.e. talent acquisition, compensation, etc.) with large scale initiatives and annual processes and partnering with appropriate HRBPs
- Participate in the broader regional HR team to drive HR projects and initiatives.
- Drive manager and employee Self-Service adoption on HR processes and highly repeatable functional tasks
- Develop and facilitate management training and other talent development and initiatives
- Drive engagement and retention initiatives to create a positive colleague experience
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education - Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
- Master's degree preferred
Requirements & Experience - Generally, at least 5 years of HR work experience or equivalent work experience required, preferably in a global matrix organization
- Experience in manufacturing/scientific Life Sciences industry preferred
- B.A degree: Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Professional HR certifications a plus
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, and best practices
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities; proficiency with analytical platforms and HR systems
- Experience in performance management, talent development, employee relations, compensation, and organizational development
- Comfortable working with ambiguity
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and leverage network
- Looks at problems with a long-term strategic view but is able to translate that into short- and long-term goals.
- High degree of autonomy and strong decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and consulting skills to collaborate with all levels of the organization
- Demonstrates personal awareness and desire for continual learning, personal development

Compensation and BenefitsThis position may be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Compensation and BenefitsThe salary range estimated for this position based in Illinois is $93,800.00-$140,675.00.
