Job Summary

Manage the Human Resource functions at the Goodyear, AZ manufacturing facility including safety, security, employee relations, salary/wage administration, benefits, training, and communications in addition to the recruiting function. Strive to continuously improve the department to meet the needs of the Company, employees, and community. Represent the Plant with local, state, and federal agencies as related to personnel, safety, and public relations.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate the safety, security, and health programs in accordance with OSHA, local, state, and federal requirements. Interact with team members, supervisors, and department managers to ensure the safety program is managed in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Interpret and administer company policies, procedures and programs related to employment, wage and salary/wage administration, orientation, and training. Analyze the effectiveness of the policies and recommend revisions when deemed appropriate. Author policies and procedures to fit site-specific needs.
  • Administer the compensation and benefits program for all employees. Update and inform employees of program changes.
  • Maintain good employee relations and communication between workforce and the management team. Spending time on the production floor daily interacting with shop floor employees will be critical to developing effective employee relations.
  • Provide guidance, support, training, and resources as part of the Marion team.
  • Maintain compliance with all state, federal and company directives. Develop and maintain EEO/AAP programs.
  • Develop and maintain site security programs to comply with standard security practices and customer audit requirements.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining personnel records.
  • Participate in corporate HR programs and act as a resource for other company HR professionals where needed.
  • Develop and/or administer employee-training programs to ensure compliance with government requirements.
  • Responsible for the direct supervision of the Administrative Assistant. Provide leadership, guidance, development, and training.


Job Qualifications

Required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with good inter-personal skills. Ability to effectively supervise the work of others. Team building and organizational skills required.
  • Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment with an understanding of the principles of continuous improvement and six sigma techniques is required.
  • Must be able to research information and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations and plans of action.
  • Possess a basic understanding of word processing and spreadsheet applications, preferably Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).
  • Ability to read, learn, understand, and consistently apply all policies and procedures.

Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources, Business, or related field.
  • PHR or SPHR certification desired.
  • Must have 5+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment.


Environment

Incumbent works in an office/manufacturing environment. Individual will use the following equipment: computer, calculator, telephone, fax machine, and copier. Requires prolonged sitting (50%) and walking/standing (50%). Requires full range of body motion such as twisting, bending, climbing, and reaching at, above or below shoulders and lifting up to 25 lbs. Visual requirements include near/far acuity. Required safety equipment: hair/beard net, safety glasses and earplugs. Incumbent will be required to travel to other Huhtamaki Inc., facilities, seminars, vendors, etc. by both ground and air transportation.
