Build the HR Function for a High-Growth OrganizationOur client is seeking a hands-on HR Manager to lead all aspects of Human Resources for a growing, multi-state organization. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys building processes from the ground up, partnering with business leaders, and making a meaningful impact across the entire employee lifecycle.
This role supports both a corporate team and a large field workforce across California, Nevada, and Ohio. You'll have the autonomy to shape recruiting, HR operations, compliance, and employee engagement while helping prepare the organization for its next phase of growth.
Talent Acquisition
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for field, corporate, and leadership positions
- Manage high-volume recruiting for technicians and field operations while supporting specialized hiring needs
- Improve recruiting processes, ATS workflows, and candidate experience
- Partner with business leaders on workforce planning and hiring strategy
- Develop internal sourcing strategies and manage external recruiting partners
HR Operations & Compliance
- Oversee onboarding, offboarding, employee records, benefits administration, payroll coordination, and HRIS management
- Ensure compliance with employment laws across multiple states, with an emphasis on California
- Manage employee leaves, including CFRA, FMLA, PDL, and ADA accommodations
- Maintain employee handbook, HR policies, and required compliance documentation
- Handle employee relations matters, workplace investigations, and corrective actions
- Support performance management and manager coaching initiatives
Culture & Employee Experience
- Build engaging onboarding programs that set employees up for success
- Lead employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives
- Coordinate internal communications, employee events, and culture-building programs
- Analyze engagement trends and recommend improvements to leadership
Requirements:
- 8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
- Strong full-cycle recruiting background, including high-volume hiring
- Excellent knowledge of California employment law
- Experience supporting multi-state operations
- Hands-on experience with HRIS and payroll systems
- Strong employee relations and investigation experience
- Ability to work independently and build scalable HR processes
- Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in home services, restoration, construction, manufacturing, logistics, or other field-based environments
- Experience working in a high-growth or private equity-backed organization
- Familiarity with Rippling HRIS
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
