Position: Human Resources Manager

Location: Houston, TX

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Pay: $85,000.00-$90,000.00 DOE

Schedule: M-F Onsite 8-5pm

Description: Responsible for overseeing the human resources department and ensuring that the organization's workforce strategies align with its business objectives. This role involves developing and implementing HR policies, handling employee relations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and supporting leadership in managing and coaching their teams effectively. The HR Manager will also work closely with employees at all levels to foster a positive work environment and drive a strong company culture.

Responsibilites:
• Promote positive employee relations through effective communication and interpretation of HR policies.
• Handle employee grievances and conflict resolution while ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.
• Manage unemployment claims and hearings.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and company policies.
• Conduct audits and work with the HR compliance team to identify and address gaps in safety programs and internal policies.
• Assist in explaining legal requirements and compliance considerations related to business objectives.
• Develop and oversee performance evaluation processes, including goal setting, key metrics, discipline forms, write-ups, safety violations, and annual performance reviews.
• Support site supervisors in effectively managing and coaching their teams.
• Facilitate professional development opportunities and HR-related training sessions as needed.
• Conduct employee engagement surveys and implement initiatives to enhance company culture.
• Draft and manage employee letters, status updates, and other HR documentation.
• Provide HR support to employees and managers, including field leaders and employees, through in-person interactions, email, and phone communication.
• Assist with the new hire application process when necessary.
• Facilitate HR-related meetings and internal communications.
• Visit job sites to connect with employees, address HR concerns, and reinforce company policies.
• Ensures that workers' compensation claims, OSHA reporting, and safety compliance are being conducted on a timely matter by the HR compliance team member.
• Assist the HR compliance team with annual audits and in monthly payroll reporting related to safety and workers' compensation.
• Work closely with HR compliance teams and internal stakeholders to enhance workplace safety programs.
• Provide guidance and support to the HR team by reviewing priorities, tasks, and individual responsibilities.
• Hold individual and team meetings to discuss ongoing projects and HR initiatives.
• Maintain thorough documentation, including detailed write-ups on HR incidents, corrective actions, and next steps if issues persist.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field OR equivalent experience in HR management.
  • Minimum 5 years of HR experience, with a focus on employee relations, compliance, and performance management.

Preferred:
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
