How you will make an impactAs the Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for GSD, you will partner with business leaders to align talent, leadership, organizational capability, and culture with business priorities. GSS is the premier services and support partner that empowers our customers to advance science and improve health outcomes. The GSS business is responsible for $300M business across three divisions in GSD, BID and CSD within the new Life Sciences, Diagnostics and Applied Sector (LDA). Working across a global, matrixed organization, you will help build high-performing teams, strengthen leadership capability, and support organizational transformation that enables growth and innovation.
Leveraging workforce insights, digital capabilities, and AI-enabled analytics, you will help leaders make informed decisions, improve organizational effectiveness, and build a future-ready workforce-all while advancing Thermo Fisher Scientific's Mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.
What you will do- Partner with business leaders to develop and implement people strategies aligned with business priorities and organizational goals.
- Advise leaders on talent management, organizational design, workforce planning, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness.
- Lead talent and succession planning processes that strengthen leadership capability and organizational readiness.
- Support organizational transformation and change initiatives that improve business performance and employee experience.
- Leverage workforce data, digital tools, and AI-enabled insights to identify trends, inform decisions, and enhance organizational performance.
- Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to deliver integrated, enterprise-focused people solutions.
- Foster an inclusive, high-performing culture that reflects Thermo Fisher Scientific's values and leadership expectations.
Minimum QualificationsEducation- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced degree preferred.
Experience- Typically 8+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including strategic HR business partnering within a global or matrixed organization.
- Experience supporting business leaders in organizational design, talent management, leadership development, workforce planning, and change management.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align people strategies with business priorities and organizational outcomes.
- Experience leveraging workforce analytics, digital tools, and AI-enabled technologies to support decision-making and organizational effectiveness.
- Excellent communication, executive presence, and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships and translate complex business challenges into practical, business-focused solutions.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting global R&D, manufacturing, commercial, healthcare, or life sciences organizations.
- Experience leading organizational change, transformation, or business integration initiatives.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent HR certification is a plus.
Travel: Approximately 10-15%, including occasional international travel.
Compensation and BenefitsThe salary range estimated for this position based in California is $174,600.00-$232,800.00.
