Client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the People Governance and Leadership Development team. This engagement focuses on reviewing, restructuring, and revising organizational policies and the personnel handbook to ensure they provide an established governance framework, maintain consistent and user-friendly formatting, are fit for purpose, and remain compliant with applicable regulations.
The selected consultant will lead policy governance initiatives, establish sustainable governance processes, improve operational workflows, and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in policy governance, compliance, or related areas.
Job Knowledge & Functional Competencies
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local labor laws, including:
- Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
- Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations
- Experience developing compliance frameworks and governance structures.
- Proven experience creating and implementing policy frameworks.
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to draft policies that mitigate enterprise risk while maintaining clear, user-friendly, and culturally aligned language.
- Experience identifying and mitigating policy and procedural risks.
Analytical & Audit Competencies
- Experience conducting comprehensive policy, procedure, and handbook audits.
- Ability to identify:
- Regulatory non-compliance
- Operational inconsistencies
- Process inefficiencies
- Ability to evaluate operational workflows and translate them into formalized Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Execution & Change Management
- Experience collaborating with legal counsel, executive leadership, and business stakeholders to review and implement policy changes.
- Ability to obtain stakeholder alignment and organizational buy-in.
- Experience implementing enterprise-wide policy and handbook updates.
- Ability to train employees at executive, management, and staff levels on existing and newly implemented policies.
