Full Job Description
We're seeking someone to join our team as a HR Communications Lead to be the Firm's senior HR communications strategist and counselor to the CHROs and HR leadership - setting enterprise direction for messaging, strengthening narrative clarity and ensuring HR communications are modern, cohesive and trusted.

In the Corporate Communications department, we cultivate and protect the Firm's powerful global brand and reputation, leveraging our resources across media relations, internal communications, philanthropy and digital strategy to ensure we present the Firm consistently in all that we do. This is an Executive Director level position within our Communications Job Family which is primarily responsible for the crafting and development of messages and programs aimed at the firm's employees overall, as well as the firm's Financial Advisors and Field Management. We provide editorial support and strategic guidance to business partners, liaise with the Firm's businesses and departments and senior leadership on internal communications matters, and provide thought leadership and strategic guidance on communications.

What you'll do in the role:
  • Translate department vision into plans for area of responsibility and guide their execution
  • Take accountability for multiple processes and/or programs
  • Take ownership of decisions and actions that advance key business objectives -Independently drive the delivery of complex projects
  • Ensure fresh ideas receive appropriate senior management attention by acting as a champion for change within the division and firm
  • Advise CHROs and senior HR leaders on high-impact priorities, sensitive matters and major Firm moments.
  • Set the enterprise HR communications strategy, narrative architecture and channel approach.
  • Establish governance frameworks, operating norms and prioritization processes that improve focus and reduce noise.
  • Drive consistency across HR messaging with consideration for the right regional and functional nuance.
  • Lead executive messaging, leader engagements and communications planning for complex initiatives.
  • Champion innovation in how we plan, write, distribute and measure communications.


What you'll bring to the role:
  • Ability to routinely use significant judgement on moderate to complex problems
  • Advanced understanding of functional area and competent understanding of overall firm and competitive environment
  • Strength in creating and maintaining deep relationships across businesses and organizations
  • A known and skilled collaborator, who consistently looks to connect the dots
  • Required: Demonstrated expertise working across groups - aligning leaders, teams and regions to deliver a single, coherent narrative.
  • Preferred: HR subject-matter expertise (or a proven ability to build deep HR fluency quickly).
  • Experience: At least 12 years' experience in HR, enterprise/executive communications and/or corporate communications, with demonstrated experience advising senior leaders, leading multi-channel narrative strategy and setting governance/operating norms.
  • Executive presence, strong judgment and ability to influence with clarity and conviction.
  • Exceptional writing/editing skills; comfort simplifying complex topics without losing accuracy.
  • A "do it right, do it simple, tech-enabled" mindset.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $165,000 and $275,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
