Join our new hotel as the Chief Engineer. The hotel chief engineer manages all property maintenance, building systems, and engineering staff to ensure guest safety, comfort, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
• Facility Maintenance: Oversee repairs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and general building structures.
• Preventive Maintenance: Run routine inspection schedules for guest rooms, public areas, and critical equipment.
• Safety & Compliance: Test life safety systems, fire alarms, and emergency lights, ensuring compliance with local building and health codes.
• Staff Leadership: Hire, train, schedule, and supervise maintenance technicians and engineering teams.
• Budget & Capital Projects: Manage department expenses, track utility consumption, and plan facility improvement projects.
Qualifications
• Experience: Typically 2 to 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience, with prior supervisory or director-level hospitality experience.
• Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge across multiple trades, such as electrical, plumbing, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Certifications: Valid state or local safety certifications (such as a Fire and Life Safety Director certification) depending on regional requirements.
