Full Job Description
Role Summary

Strategic leader to reimagine the content delivery, taking key insights and designing to meet the client in the ever-changing digital environment. In addition, we are seeking a dynamic, credible, and highly engaging Host for a daily externally facing podcast serving CIOs, technology executives, and leaders navigating the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

This individual will become the face, voice, and personality of the program, translating the depth and breadth of Gartner's insights and analyst expertise into timely, accessible, compelling conversations for an executive audience.

The Host will not be expected to be the definitive subject-matter expert on every topic. Instead, they will serve as the connective tissue between our analysts and our audience, drawing upon the insights, perspectives, and expertise of analysts across the organization to identify what matters, explain why it matters, and help executives understand what they should be thinking about next.

The ideal candidate combines the instincts of a journalist, interviewer, storyteller, curator, and executive communicator. They are intellectually curious, comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment, confident engaging with highly credible experts, and able to establish a distinctive on-air personality that builds audience trust and loyalty over time.

Core Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Face and Voice of the Podcast
  • Host a high-quality reoccurring podcast designed primarily for CIOs and senior technology executives, with significant focus on AI and the rapidly changing technology landscape.
  • Develop a recognizable and trusted on-air personality that makes complex topics engaging, understandable, and relevant to an executive audience.
  • Establish continuity across episodes so the podcast feels like a consistent editorial destination rather than a collection of individual analyst interviews.
  • Build an authentic relationship with the audience and ultimately become a recognizable external representative of the organization's technology insights.
  • Curate and Deliver Across Four Editorial Pillars
  • The Host will work with analysts, research leaders, and editorial partners to deliver programming across four primary areas: Event Driven | What's Happening Now; Top Insights | What We're Thinking; Client Perspective | What Leaders Are Asking; Market Positions | How the Market Is Moving
  • Lead Compelling Conversations
  • Interview analysts and other experts across a wide range of AI, technology, vendor, market, and other strong positions.
  • Draw out the most interesting and differentiated insights from subject-matter experts.
  • Challenge analysts constructively when appropriate, asking the questions an informed CIO would ask.
  • Exercise Strong Editorial Judgment
  • Work with editorial and research stakeholders to determine what deserves the audience's attention each day.
  • Monitor emerging topics and quickly determine when developments warrant podcast coverage.
  • Prioritize topics based on timeliness, executive relevance, differentiation, and potential audience value.
  • Build Audience Engagement and Franchise Value
  • Help establish the podcast as a must-listen daily destination for CIOs and technology executives.
  • Partner with production, communications, social, and marketing teams to extend podcast conversations across channels.
  • Use audience feedback and performance data to continually evolve the program, its format, and its editorial mix.

Candidate Profile
  • Exceptional verbal communication, interviewing, and storytelling skills. Comfortable expressing personality, perspective, curiosity, and appropriate skepticism on air.
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to establish credibility with CIOs, senior technology leaders, and highly experienced analysts.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and genuine enthusiasm for technology, AI, business, and markets.
  • Ability to quickly absorb complicated research and turn it into clear, engaging conversations.
  • Able to work at the pace required by a daily, event-driven publishing model.

Relevant Background
  • 20+ years prior business experience
  • Prior Gartner analyst experience preferred; experience in broadcast or podcast hosting; executive interviewing/discussions
  • Experience working directly with AI, enterprise technology, business strategy, markets, or technology research is valuable. However, deep expertise in every technology domain is not required. More important is the ability to learn rapidly, prepare rigorously, identify differentiated insights, ask incisive questions, and make complex ideas useful to senior executives.
